sooo if you have been following my blog you may have noticed that I have quite a few Harry Potter cards, apparently I know a lot of people who enjoy Harry Potter LOL, I do try very hard to make my cards different or to try different techniques to make each one special. My niece is a huge Harry Potter fan so I really wanted to make a special card just for her so I decided to make a bridge card.
Welcome to the weekend, and with the weekend comes another Crazy4Challenges challenge. This week’s Challenge is to have a wreath on the card, any style or theme. I’m not quite feeling the Christmas cards quite yet and I have a birthday card I need for someone in the near future so I thought I would make a Birthday card with a wreath. I also that I would make it into an easel card because they just sit up so pretty. This is a wider version of an easel card compared to cards I have done in the past.
hello, so I thought I would try something new today. This is an interactive card that does not using any special dies. There were a few cards that were posted a few weeks ago using this techniques so I thought I would try my hand at it, so I checked out a few videos on YouTube (I’ll post below). I was having difficulty though, I actually had to start this mechanism over 3 times, not sure why as I usually can figure these things out pretty well. The problem I had was I couldn’t get the parts to spin without separating from each other, or they just wouldn’t spin, so I decided to add a brad to centre and that seemed to remedy it for me.
soo today was one of those days where I had a plan, a goal and the idea in which I planned on doing it, it’s a card that I promised would be done before Friday annnnnd it didn’t get done. It wasn’t for lack of trying, I just couldn’t get the mechanism to do what it was supposed to do and I was getting frustrated so I decided to put it down. I found this pretty striped paper from my crazy stash and created this card, which is pretty much the exact opposite of the card that I had originally started. Anyway I got something done today, maybe it wasn’t what I had planned but it’s cute and it’s complete. 😊
*Welcome to the weekend, and another Crazy4Challenges challenge. this weeks challenge was to focus on the Sentiment, to make the sentiment the star of the card. I had to think a bit on this one, but then it came to me when a friend asked me to make a Birthday card for her son. I know him a little and I know that he fairly recently got a tattoo of the “HA HA HA” Joker themed tattoo. We gave him a bit of a hard time about the tattoo so I thought he would get a kick out of a Joker themed card using the same kind of look as the tattoo.
I have to say this card was actually a little frustrating to make at first, as everything I was trying to do was not turning out like I had planned, so I kept putting my mistakes aside and trying again or moving on, but in the end I ended using all the mistake pieces, some extra pieces, I changed ideas as I went, and the card turned out way better for it than I thought it would.
