Happy New Year crafty friends and welcome back to my blog. Today I am sharing my take on Karen Burniston’s January designer challenge which is “Bugs”. For those of you that follow along (and actually read) my blog you know that when I make a project I typically figure it out as I go. This project is definitely one of those. I started with a loose idea and then I went completely down the rabbit hole and ended up with this. Typically I add links through out the post but because most of these use mostly the same die sets I will link them at the end. If you follow the link, Karen has video tutorials for each set (just scroll down a bit once you get to the product)
I have to say I think these little critters are adorable!!!!!

As we are rolling into the new year I would like to share what my favourite cards of 2025 are. I was planning on doing this yearly, and I started in 2023, but last year I just didn’t have the time. I might do a flash back to 2024 I haven’t decided yet. But I am excited to share my favourites for this year……… all the details can found on the original post and the month is the link to the card it is covering.
I think this card is adorable and it was so much fun to make I actually made 3. The characters were all made using the Paper People die-set it is super easy to customize the people. I used the patterned paper to dictate the colour palette for the card and I think it turned out pretty cute.
I think this card is so pretty. It was inspired by that week’s episode of Craft Roulette. I really need to start playing again as I have made some really pretty cards. Again I used the patterned paper to choose the colour palette which is really vibrant. I really love how the butterflies look like they are flying right out of the card.
Those closest to me know that I love my tea and my dozens of house plants, so when I saw the parameters on Craft Roulette on this weekend I knew I had to play. I love the soft colours and movement of the butterflies.
I typically struggle with masculine cards but I do have to say I think this one turned out pretty cute. The style of this card uses a different way to use Fence add on set that is much different than its intended use, and who doesn’t love a few cheeky raccoons that are stealing the show.
These cuties are going to party until the cows come home. I spent a lot of time creating all these characters and decorating the barn themed party card, and in the end it turned out pretty cute.
I really like bright and vibrant cards. I love all the rainbows and the balloon arch with the rainbow colours. The unicorns just add such a magical touch. Believe it or not I still have this card put away for a special little girl. I had already mailed her a card when I received these super cute unicorns, so I made her card for next year lol.
I went stash diving to select the paper for this card, my favourite part about this card is that I used the Piano Keys Pop up to add the flowers and the fence to the card. I really enjoy when I find an alternate use for a dieset, You can’t even tell that all the flowers are attached to the piano keys lol.
This is a special milestone birthday card that I made for my husband. The photo does not do this card justice the silver is so shiny and there’s so much depth to the pop up with its multiple mechanisms.
Ok, I absolutely love challenging myself to come up with cards that reflect the likes or hobbies of the recipient. My brother is a horror movies lover from way back so for the last few years I have made him cards based on some of the classics. I have to say they have been very popular among friends and family.
I LOVE fall colours, this is an anniversary card that I made for my parents and I have to say the little Paper People characters resemblance of my parents is spot on. The details on the accent pieces really tie this card together.
I’d like to say when I start my cards I have a plan from start to finish, but typically I figure it out as I go. This is one of those cards. I really love how it all came together in the end. The colours work so well together and if you see this card in motion the ladybugs and butterflies are so fun. There are actually 8 different moving arms on this card. I sent this card to my mom who has been in the hospital.
This one is a tough one. I made three similar cards but at think this one might be the cutest of the three. I mix and matched die sets to come up with this cute little elf who is licking her candy cane. I also love how the colours all work together.
I just had to add this card as well, again I love the fall colours and this one is neat when it opens, it took a lot of fiddling but I got all the pieces in place with out any catch points, which is easier said than done
I’d love to Thanks all my followers for following my blog, it means a lot to me. I wish you all a very wonderful New year and hope to keep you interested in 2026.
Merry Christmas my crafty friends, this will be my last post before Christmas. I am sharing my third Playful Pop up Character that I have created and it is this cute little elf licking a candy cane.
I had so much fun creating this fun elf, let me know in the comments if there are any other characters you would like me to try to create.

What says Christmas like a big fuzzy pink sloth, lol. I have a sweet little granddaughter that has her most favourite toy in the world and you probably guessed it but it is a pink fuzzy sloth. When I saw her last her I asked what kind of Christmas card would you like and she said a “Baboo Card”, but I want Baboo on the inside. I have made her a few cards with a her little sloth friend hanging out but this is the first one that I have made her that is this big. I think it turned out pretty cute.
