Red Ribbon Roses

I have a bit of an oldie today, I made this card a few years back for our local Fall Fair. I entered in one of the contest and won the first place ribbon. I have posted some 3d roses cards before but I did add a little bit more detail to this post. Some of the ideas for this card I learned when I was a Stampin Up demonstrator from Stampin Connection, the Roses were a big hit back in 2011 but I really have no idea who the original creator is, the same with the method on how to make the tag. I thought I would share as both elements are fun and easy and you may have the same or similar tools at home to create your own 3D Roses card.

I Scream, You Scream, We all Scream for Ice Cream.

Who doesn’t love ice cream, I just received this die set and I was pretty excited to use it, because like I said who doesn’t love ice cream. My colour pallet revolved around this fun striped paper which just happened to be slightly sticking out of my crazy paper bin, it must love ice cream too.

Sand Castle-Beach at the Lake Style-C4C496

I have been anxiously waiting to make this post. I had this idea for making a big sandcastle out of the “Woven Basket” die set and the “Castle Pop up” for a while now and I had to wait for this week’s Crazy4Challenges challenge to post it because you guest it, this weeks challenge is to make a card incorporating a sand castle, apparently its “Sandcastle Day” so get out there and hit the beach or craft room and make a sandcastle everybody.

If your wondering what I mean by “lake beach”, I grew up in a town on the North shore of Lake Huron, and although all the “Ocean beach” cards with their crabs and palm trees are quite lovely , I’m more likely to see frogs and cattails near the beaches I’m used to, so this card is dedicated to my home town of Blind River. Miss you like crazy especially when it’s this hot out.

Mario Gift Card-punchart

Well I had a busy weekend making cards, I am currently working on three and not one is finished yet. So I dug into my older cards again (sorry) and I found this cutie, it is a card panel that I used for a gift card. When my kids were younger I would make gift cards like this when I knew that wanted a video game (usually for Christmas) but I wasn’t sure want they wanted or what they may have been getting from family. Much cuter than an actual gift card and it entitled them to one free game. We always wrote a note on the back. I can’t take credit for this dude as I CASEd him from Leena Girsa from alacards.blogspot.com way back in 2013, I tracked down her blog and she still has it posted http://alacards.blogspot.com/2013/03/lots-to-show-you.html there are a few slight differences but otherwise its a pretty close CASE

Masculine Clocks and Gears Birthday card-C4C494

Another weekend another Crazy 4 Challenges challenge, and this weeks challenge was to make a masculine card. It is sometimes easier said than done, it is so much easier making fancy frilly cards in nice bright colours and sometimes it’s hard to reel in the glitter and ribbons but I think I did it. I made a Birthday card in shades of grey and I used clocks and gears on the fun mechanism on this inside and carried them to the front as well. I had a little design flaw that I had to overcome, but I think the finished card is better than it would have been if my original plan would have worked.
