Another weekend another Crazy 4 Challenges challenge, and this weeks challenge was to make a masculine card. It is sometimes easier said than done, it is so much easier making fancy frilly cards in nice bright colours and sometimes it’s hard to reel in the glitter and ribbons but I think I did it. I made a Birthday card in shades of grey and I used clocks and gears on the fun mechanism on this inside and carried them to the front as well. I had a little design flaw that I had to overcome, but I think the finished card is better than it would have been if my original plan would have worked.

To make the mechanism for this card I used Karen Burnistons Twist Panel pop up there are other ways to make this card style but using the die set is by far the easiest (believe me I have made a few with just cutting and scoring and I have a lot of wasted cardstock to show for it) I recommend watching her VIDEO as it will make assembly easier.
The cardstock used in this card is Basic Grey and Going Grey from Stampin Up. The Ink colours are also Basic Grey and Going Grey and they are also from Stampin UP. The paper is from my Costco stash

The clock and some of the gears are from Karen Burnistons Clocks & Gears die set (retired) some of the gears I had in my stash (Ibelieve a garage sale find)
The stamps are all retired Stampin Up stamps. I was going for a distress/collage look.
