This is a card that I made a very dear friend of mine, she is also my coworker so she often gets to see my cards before they are mailed out to their recipients and I have to say she is always full of such wonderful compliments I had to make her something special. I really liked how my Snowflake Mobile card turned out so I decided to try it with balloons. I also wanted to try to use the Karen Burniston Swirls Pattern Plate on a slimline card, and I got some realllly pretty glitter for Christmas that I couldn’t wait to use, and Voila I have a Monochromatic Swirly Shaker Slimeline Mobile card. 🤗

All the fun is in the reveal, to see this card in action please check out my FACEBOOK page, feel free to join if you would like to share your own crafty creations. You can also see a video of this card on my INSTAGRAM page.
(I Post on multiple craft Facebook pages and I like to post my videos there as well but I have been having Internet issues so there is a likelihood I will only be able post it on my personal page.)
There are a lot of things going on with this card, and I will list them as I go, hopefully I don’t forget anything. To start of with is that all the cardstock is from Stampin Up and the colours are listed below. The acetate is just from the office supply store.

I started by making the card base and the panels for the shaker window.

Like mentioned above I used the Karen Burniston Swirls Pattern Plate which is technically not slimelined shaped but I made it work. I knew the glitter would steal the show so I want the swirling background to be the same colour as the background so it wouldn’t be too distracting.

The large glitter containers used below are from Moxy and it was a Christmas gift, the silver glitter is from Dollerama 😜 I have to say I love how the glitter catches on the swirls so the swirls pop without them being a different colour than the background.

The die set used below is the Upsy Daisy set from Karen Burniston, I do use it a bit different than originally intended. I give the best directions that I can but I do recommend watching Karen’s VIDEO on how to fold and attach the mechanism. The extra length of the arm is not on Karen’s video, so please message me if you have any questions.

The balloons below are all cut from the Karen Burniston Explosion Pop up die set. I chose to only start with 4/5 colours when hanging the balloons as I didn’t want to use too many that were the same colour as the card base, I knew I would add some in later.

I wanted to add a little detail on the inside but didn’t want to compete with the balloons so I chose to do a tone on tone swirl on 2 of the corners, I used the same Swirl plate to die cut that I used for the front. Also I wanted to attach the balloons differently than I did when I did the snowflake mobile, This way works way better 😀

Sorry I didn’t take a great photo of the rectangle that I added for signing.
