Pop up Puppy Happy Birthday-C4C535

Woo hoo, it’s the long weekend, I don’t have anything planned but it will be nice to just relax, and get some cards done 😀 I have a LOT of birthdays in May and I’m already almost behind 😬 so I better get busy. Well enough about next week this week I have this really fun card. I needed to make a card for the Crazy4Challenges and this weeks challenge is a design/sketch challenge. I decided to turn the sketch sideways so my card does look a little it different.

This is the sketch

And here is my card

All the fun is in the reveal, to see this card in action please check out my FACEBOOK page, feel free to join if you would like to share your own crafty creations. You can also see a video of this card on my INSTAGRAM page.

I really like liked how this colour combo turned out. The patterned paper is from Wild Asparagus, and it is double sided. The backside is the yellow that I used. The rest of the cardstock is from Stampin Up and the colours are listed below.

Starting with the cardbase, I knew I was going to use the sketch for the front, and I wanted to make a square card so this is how I started

I die cut all the pieces to decorate the front. The greeting I bought second hand, but the bows are from the Gift Pivot Panel die set from Karen Burniston, and “Dad” was stamped with a retired Stampin Set and diecut with an older S.U. Tag die.

Now for the inside. I decided to use the Parcel Pop up, and I wanted to add 2 dogs that resembled his dogs. I added photos below on my process, but I recommend watching this VIDEO, Karen shows how to assemble the mechanism and add it to the card. I made a different card base than she did but the rest is pretty close.

The larger White dog is a retired die set called “Buster the Dog)

The little dog below is from the Cat and Dog dieset that is currently still available.

To decorate the inside I decide to use the Argyle Border Blends

Thanks for joining me! I am a paper crafting enthusiast who has a special interest in interactive cards. I get a lot of inspiration from the internet so I thought that I  would throw out my own creations with hope that it inspires someone else.
