It’s a Girl- Shaker card -C4C562

I’m excited to share this card, it’s a little late but I made it for my FIRST grandchild, I wanted it to be special and I just got so stuck in my brain that I had a hard getting this started. Sooooo when I was coming up with a card for this challenge I used it to get my self rolling on this baby card. This weeks challenge is a design challenge, so I used the following image to inspire me on this card front. I did change the square for a circle but other wise I think I kept it pretty close to the image.

This is the image……

And this is what I came up with…..

All the fun is in the reveal, to see this card in action please check out my FACEBOOK page, feel free to join if you would like to share your own crafty creations. You can also see a video of this card on my INSTAGRAM page.

This card uses a variety of old and new items from my stash, like I’ve said before “use what you’re got”. The patterned paper is old Stampin up paper and the pink cardstock is Core Color cardstock. On the front I also used Water Colour Paper , Smoky Slate cardstock and Very Vanilla cardstock from Stampin Up. The rest of the supplies I’ll mention as I go.

I water-coloured a cute bear for the focal point, sorry it’s a retired Stampin Up stamp set. The chipboard pieces I used a also retired Stampin up. You can get the same look from using foam adhesive I just happen to be out of foam adhesive at the moment.

How I assembles the shaker box

A little trick to help attach ribbon around a round element.

Now to get started on the card base.

The pop up mechanism is the Parcel Pop up from Karen Burniston. I have photos to use as reference but I recommend watching her tutorial VIDEO as it is a tricky mechanism to make. I watched the video every time I make this style of card.

So I did cheat a bit. I had this bear in my stash, I stamped it a while back but didn’t use it. I thought it would be perfect for this card. The bear is originally a Stamping Up set which I believe is retired.

I used the Border Blends Argyle die set to trim both borders and the heart border as well. The ribbon that I used for the bow on the inside and the outside is from my stash and I believe I got it from Dollar Tree.

A few finishing touches…
