I made this card a few weeks ago as a request for a friend. She needed a wedding card for her brother and his soon to be wife with a traveling theme. I had to ponder this one for a bit as I wasn’t quite sure what to do and how to make this a personalized card. Then I happened to look across my craft room at a book shelf and there it was, an Atlas that had sat on a shelf, unused for at least 20 years, I’m not even sure how hold it even is, my hubby is guessing 30ish. I thought long and hard before I started ripping pages out as I love books, I have always taken care of my books and part of my brain had a hard time committing to taking this one apart. I texted my friend and told her what I was considering and asked if there was any special places that she had in mind, well she passed on where they were, living, where they got engaged, places they have been and places they were planning on going so I made the decision and this is what I came up with.

Ok so when I was creating this card I didn’t give myself any extra time so I am missing a few photos, and some of the measurements may not be exact as I didn’t write them down and I am going from memory (which isn’t the greatest at the best of times 😆)
To create the fun mechanism I used the Twist Panel Pop up die set from Karen Burniston. She has a tutorial VIDEO which I recommend watching as she always gives really good directions and sometimes some helpful tips.
All the cardstock is from Stampin Up and the colours are listed in the description. The maps are all from an old atlas and the Blue patterned paper is from my crazy paper bin.
The finished card is about 5″x7″, the below section is the inside mechanism which I adhered inside the card base, I did not get a photo of the card base before adding the mechaim.

I used some fun dies to decorate. the little arrow in the 1st panel is actually a clock hand from a retired “Clocks and Gears” set, the little Very Vanilla flag (under the hearts) is a die from this Twinst Panel set as are the little hearts. I layered a Cherry Cobbler heart over a blue patterned paper heart over a Night of Navy heart. In the 2nd panel the is a Night of Navy heart and the ring was made by cutting the letter “O” out of gold cardstock and I added a rhinestone. Panel 3 uses the Palm trees from the Tropical Scenes die set cut out of Garden Green cardstock and I coloured the trunk with an alcohol marker. The 4th panel I used the glasses from Props 1 dieset (retired) and I used Cherry Cobbler and Silver cardstock.

The wine glasses and bottle are from the Wine charms die set, I used Very Vanilla, Cherry Cobbler, and Pear Pizzazz cardstock, the Camera is from my Scan N Cut and I cut it out of Basic Black and 2 shades of grey. I used some Wink of Stella on the side of the glasses, the bottle and the lens of the camera.
