Friend to Friend-Sketch Challenge C4C488

Today is Crazy4Challenges day and it is a Sketch Challenge. I was in the middle of making Fathers Days cards and I just couldn’t come up with a Fathers Day card for this sketch, I think the bow and the scallops just had my mind leaning towards a more feminine card, then I got a call from a very dear friend who just called to see how I was doing, so I thought that I would make this card for her.

This is the sketch for the challenge

Oldie but Goodie Fathers Day card

Sooooo, I had to dig into my old cards once again, it’s hard to post new Fathers Day cards on the internet when all my new cards are meant to go to someone and they are supposed to be a surprise. I found this card, it uses an old technique that I haven’t used in years, it gives a marble look to a background and is quite easy and fun to do, so I thought that I would share. If you try this technique, different colours give different results, if you use shades of brown or grey it can actually look like stone.

BEE Happy Crazy Fold card

This is a fun card that I made a while back, I really like how the yellow pops against the black,Β  and the cute little bee. It has a fun fold which piqued my interest back when I made it. This card was made before I knew about pop up cards, back before I knew what could be done with cardstock, so it may seem pretty simple compared to what I generally make now but I think it’s still pretty cute.

At the Beach-Birthday Card-C4C487

This week’s Crazy 4 Challenge had me shopping at the hardware store lol. The challenge was a beachy theme and to incorporate sand, I could have used real sand, sandpaper, sand stamps or sand images, I choose SANDPAPER, I thought the texture would add to the overall effect of the card and would be a little less messy than real sand. This is a belated birthday card for my Mom and one thing that she enjoys is her almost daily walks on the beach with my Dad and their 2 dogs, Cinnamon and Molly. This is my representation of their beach, with the waves rolling in and the woods in the background.

Time Flies Accordion Card

Accordion cards make such an impact and are fun to open, they are also very easy to display as they stand up very nice. Here is an accordion card that I made a little while back, I hope you like it.

All the cardstock used to make this card is from Stampin Up. The colours used are Not Quite Navy, Buckaroo Blue, Basic Grey, and silver. The panels are cut out of the Basic Grey and the edges were sponged with Basic grey. The blue panels were sponged with Not quite Navy ink., All the clock pieces and gears were cut out of silver with the exception of the hands on the front clock.

To create this card I used Karen Burnistons “Gift Card Accordion” die set and followed these directions https://youtu.be/bzB7Auai1QU my card has 4 panels so you would just keep adding panels as needed. The clock and some of the gears are also an older Karen Burniston die set. The die on the second panel I lucked out and found at Thrift store.

I decorated the panels with the clocks, gears and a few rectangle dies. I printed the greeting “Time Flies” on the front and “when you’re getting old” on the inside.
