Sneak Peek week- Blooming flowers

Welcome back to day 2 of sneak peek week.

Today I am sharing how used the new Triple Flatform , Flower Pot Add ons and the Bouquet bits to create this fun blooming pot of flowers.

All the fun is in the reveal, to see this card in action please check out my FACEBOOK page, feel free to join if you would like to share your own crafty creations. You can also see a video of this card on my INSTAGRAM page.

I went stash diving to find this pretty floral paper, and I am using dark green Core Color cardstock. I cut the cardbase and panels as shown below.

Add the panels to the cardbase. I added a thin strip of cardstock to cover where the 2 panels meet on the inside.

I cut and assembled the Triple Platform mechanism (Karen will have an assembly video soon) I used the same patterned paper on the mechanism as I did on the background. I added it too the card making sure to leave enough room underneath to add the pot.

I diecut the flowers from the new Flower Pot add on. Using alcohol markers I added shading and colouring trying to match the flowers to the flowers on the cardstock. The small yellow and blue flowers are from the Flower Pot Pop Up, and the large yellow flower is from the Flower Pivot Panels. I added them to different sections of the mechanism, checking often to make sure the flowers don’t snag on each other when opening and closing the card. I also added some flowers and leaves to the back wall of the card to make the flower bouquet look fuller. οΏΌ

At first I was going to use the Woven Basket but I didn’t like the look so I cutout 2 of the flower pots from the Flower Pot Pop ups . On each of the flower pots starting at the bottom corner on what would be the inside of the pot I cut straight up to give it a straight up and down edge. I also trimmed a bit off the top because they were still a bit too tall to fit under the mechanism. I sponged the edges with Versa Mark ink. I layered the label that came with the Triple Platform set as shown. And added all the pieces to the cardbase.

I then stamped β€œHappy Birthday” from the Bouquet Sayings, and added it to a pic from the Bouquet Bits. The pink bow is also from the Bouquet Bits added to a thin strip of cardstock.

I wasn’t very good with how I cut my green cardstock and had a weird section that I cut the label from Rectangles and Labels Crosshatch. The white label was fine but the green frame is missing a section. Fortunately, I had some flowers and leaves left over to discreetly cover the missing section. I added Just a note to the front.

I added some itty bitty gems to the front and the inside.

I typically add white highlights to my diecuts but because I wanted the flowers to match the pattern paper, I chose not to this time. οΏΌ
