Guess Who Loves You- C4C548

Helllo, and happy weekend. Sorry I have been MIA, but I am here this week with a card for this weeks Crazy4Challenges blog challenge. This weeks challenge is a design challenge so I thought it was a good one to jump back in on. I have been completely strapped for time so I decided to give myself another challenge, and that was to ONLY use products that I already have out from other projects. So everything I used are items that I already had either on my work table or things that weren’t quite put away yet, with the exception of the little stamps for the greeting on the front. (I don’t call it My Messy Craftroom for nothing 😂)

Lol if you look close you can see the owls eyes in the blue basket on the right side 🤦🏻‍♀️

Here is the sketch for this weeks challenge

And here is my card

All the fun is in the reveal, to see this card in action please check out my FACEBOOK page, feel free to join if you would like to share your own crafty creations. You can also see a video of this card on my INSTAGRAM page.😊

Apparently I am a really messy crafter as I had all these papers and card stocks within arms reach. Some of them I used on other projects and some I had pulled out because I was going to use them and didn’t but hadn’t put it away 🤦🏻‍♀️. The cardstock was all from Stampin Up and the colours are listed below. The paper is from my stash (sorry it isn’t labelled)

The card base below was cut to 9 1/4” x 8” scored at 4”. The red paper was cut to 9” x 3 3/4” then layered in top of the card base.

Funny story about the owl, I actually made him a couple of years ago, and had him in a bucket of half started animals, and just hadn’t used him in the yet. So it was either the owl or a monkey without a tail so I went with the owl. Once I chose the owl the greeting from the front popped into my head and I decided that was what the card was going to have. The owl is a retired Karen Burness and die set, and the tree branch is the current Tree pop up that she sells.

I added the tree branch, hearts and owl to the card front, strategically placing the hearts to hide the flaws. I added the owl with dimensional adhesive to give him a bit of a pop. The hearts were also in a box of cut pieces that I hadn’t used because they were flawed but they suited this card and I was able to make them work.

Using itty bitty alphabet stamps and Early Espresso ink I stamped the greeting on thin banners. The bottom banner I adhered with liquid adhesive, the top banner I adhered with dimensional adhesive to give it a bit of a lift.

To make the pop up feature I used Karen Burnistons Twist Circle Pop up die set. I hadn’t thought to cut into the card base as the directions describe, so I cut it out of a scored rectangle and then just added it to the card base and then continued on as per Karen‘s VIDEO directions

I used the two large circle dies from the set to cut the red and brown circles. I cut the letters. Then I cut some of the red and pink scraps into strips. I added the circles to the pop up mechanism, the letters to the circle along with two little hearts. And I added the strips to the top left and bottom right. I thought the pink strips would be a good place to write a message.

Now time to bling it up, I added some itty-bitty rhinestones and some of little bubbles around the greeting and on the little hearts on the front of the card. I also added them around the pop-up and on the strips on the inside. I used one of the itty-bitty gems to cover the stamping flaw on the top of the pink banner on the front of the card.

After the glue dried I realized it needed a little something so I added some green leaves from the same die set that I cut the tree from and a few more gems.

Thanks for joining me! I am a paper crafting enthusiast who has a special interest in interactive cards. I get a lot of inspiration from the internet so I thought that I  would throw out my own creations with hope that it inspires someone else.
