*Hey hey hey TGIF is all I have to say, This is week three of me hosting for the Crazy4Challenges challenge blog and week three is always a sketch challenge. When I came up with this sketch I was looking at my bowl of seldomly used washi tape, and thought that this design would lend itself to using some of that up. Lol. So this is what I came up with

I have been meaning to make this style of a pop up card for a while now, it is inspired my a few cards by Karen Aicken where she used the Train Pivot Panels die set sideways to give it a whole different look. I don’t have that set but I do have the Gift Pivot Panelset so I thought I’d give it a go. And I love it 🥰 I will definitely be trying this again.
All the Cardstock used is from Stampin Up and the colours are listed below.

Starting with the card base and front since the front was actually the challenge.

When it comes to washi tape I generally don’t trust it to stay stuck for any length of time. It’s super cute but generally doesn’t have a very good adhesive. I actually used double sided tape on the back of all the washi strips so I wouldn’t have a problem with it becoming unstuck.

The stamp set used is a retired Stampin Up set called Occasions Alphabet, but any small sentiment would do.

I did this card front and then called it a night, but I started to think that it just seemed too dark. So the next day I came back to it because I decided I wanted to lighten it up a bit and this is what I did.

Now for the inside of the card….

Time to work on the mechanism…I have photos below but I do highly recommend watching Karen’s VIDEO keeping in mind that I using a top folding card as apposed to side folding.

I wanted the cupcake wrapper to look like a foil wrapper so this is what I did…

Now to add the decorations, this mechanism is meant to add gifts along the panels I added all my elements randomly around trying to fill in as much space as I could. Making sure that all of the elements stay within the limits of the card when the card is closed, and that they don’t get in the way of the mechanism.
