Flying Dragon Castle Card

Soooo I know I’ve posted quite a few castle cards, but this one was a special request that I just couldn’t say no to. So as to not be too repetitive I tried something a little different. I tried my hand at creating a castle using the Sundae Pop up die set as the mechanism. there is a video that Karen made as a tutorial which I followed but changed a little. Karen made a sandcastle card and I made a Hogwarts castle with a dragon that moves a little when the card opens and closes.

to see a video of this card in motion, please check out my Facebook page. please feel free to join if you would like to share your creations My Messy Craftroom Facebook page

To make all the fun details of this card I used Karen Burnistons Castle Pop-up die set and the Ice cream Sundae Pop-up die set. I also used the dragon from the Knight and Dragon die set. The cardstock used for this card is all from Stampin Up and the colours are listed below. I used both sides of 2 different double sided patterned papers as well from my stash (I believe Costco paper)

When cutting the insert with the mechanism make sure that at least one of the directions is short enough to fit width wise in the Bigshot. My width was 6″on my BigShot so at least one of my sides had to be no greater than 6″. This is the step that I use the Sundae Pop up mechanism check out this VIDEO for details (highly recommended)

I also added a path to the front door (path is from the House and Fence pop-up die set), and a border across the bottom. I added a little bling to decorate (see bottom photo)
