Princess for a Day

I had so much fun making this card. And I love how my little circle flowers turned out. This card was inspired by Craft Roulette and I know that I never would have come up with this card otherwise. Even before I watched the episode I told myself I was going to either use a mechanism I haven’t used in a while or I would use a set that I haven’t used before. With this card I actually did both. Here are the parameters

Now I think I was pretty clever with how I used an envelope, I actually cut one in half and made it a gift card holder under the bottom flap. I think the bright colours would be perfect for a party. I have 2 crowns, one on the “P” on the front of the card, and one on the princess that is inside the card. The 3 strips of paper were used to makes the verticle belly ban. Green cardstock, green patterned paper, and flower the paper. So for my personal challenge I used the Slim Flaps and Frames and the Mini Pops for the mechanisms I haven’t used in a while, and the Word set 5- Royalty for the die set I’ve never used before.

Big Ears, Little Ears, and Chocolate Ears- March Design Team Challenge

“Bunny Ears“ that is the challenge that Karen Burniston gave the design team for this months design team challenge, and what a fun challenge. I’m such a goofy card maker because I never really have a full plan when I sit down to make my card. For this card I knew I was going to have the big bunny on the front, and I knew I wanted to use a mechanism that I haven’t used in a while so I chose the WaterFall Card. Next I chose the pretty patterned paper that was part of a long retired Stampin Up pack then the matching cardstock. Everything else fell into place as I went along, and this is what I came up up with.

**** and for those of you who like when I explain and fix my mistakes I have quite a few on this one lol.

Santa Clauses are Coming to Town

I can’t believe we haven’t even gotten past Halloween yet and I’m already stressed about Christmas cards. So when this week Craft Roulette parameters came up I knew I was making a Christmas card. This weeks parameters ⬇️

This is the card I made, I used Kraft, Vanilla, and red cardstock, the “not cardstock” pieces are the acetate, the patterned paper, the ribbon, and the glitter. Santas work shop colours, I’m sure there would be wrapping paper in Santas work shop and my colours match the wrapping paper in the front. Santas coat would have a collar even though his beard is in the way. I added gold bow collars on the itty bitty Teddy Bear, and last but not least I used a Zig Zag ribbon on the inside borders.

Autumn Trees Anniversary

It’s been a minute but I finally have a Craft Roulette inspired card. I had a lot of fun with this card, I made quite a few boo boos, but I continued through and I love how it turned out.

This week’s parameters are ⬇️⬇️⬇️ and I gave myself a couple other challenges as well. 1- besides the card base all of the other card stock had to come from my scrap bin. I have so much scrap paper I did not allow myself to cut from a full sheet. 2- use a die set that I have not used before, this is the first time I have used Karen Burnistons Family room Pop up , and 3- Mixed Media was a topic that was discussed on this weeks episode of Craft Roulette so I thought that I would give it a try.

The circles are little clear dots on the front, and the message space on the inside. The vegetable garden colours – orange pumpkin, red tomatoes, yellow corn, beans, green beans, peas, leaves, brown potatoes, blue sky. The screen element was tricky but the red fabric has a “screen” like weave to it, the ribbon has a bigger “screen” weave to it. The fluff is all over the trees, I used Flower soft to create this look.

Peek-a-boo Elf card

Still having so much fun with the Stocking Pop Up die set. This time I used the mechanism to pop up this adorable elf playing peek-a-boo in the stack of Santas presents. As you open and close the card the elf peeks up over the present he is behind.
