House of Cards “Baby Girl”

A friend of mine asked me if I could make her a baby girl card. I’m her go to personal card maker lol. She sees all my cards and is one of few who gets to see most of them in person and she is always so excited when I come up with something new. So I knew I had to make something special. She was truly happy to see this card.

Tea-riffic day- June Design team Challenge

Hello Crafty friends, I have a fun Design Team challenge card today. This months challenge is “Borders, Borders, Borders” and we were to make cards that highlight at least one of Karen Burnistons Borders diesets. She has quiet a few to chose from but I decided to see how creative I could get using just one. This is what I came up with…

Joy Fold Pop Up Tree card.

I was in need of a masculine birthday card when I sat down to make this Craft Roulette card. I was stumped for a day because I also wanted to make a pop up card but I wasn’t sure how to work that in with parameters. I actually hadn’t figured it until after I started. Here are this weeks parameters…

The way the card is folded is a Joy Fold card, I actually made a slimline Joyfold, I think the colours used could be seen on a buggy ride, the colours of the sky, grass, trees and the colours of buildings could be seen in the striped paper. The sticks can be found in the trees and the stones are around the trees. The trim is the twine around the front and the woven ribbon on the front and inside of the flap. I had the added challenge of making it a masculine card and working in the pop up.

Princess for a Day

I had so much fun making this card. And I love how my little circle flowers turned out. This card was inspired by Craft Roulette and I know that I never would have come up with this card otherwise. Even before I watched the episode I told myself I was going to either use a mechanism I haven’t used in a while or I would use a set that I haven’t used before. With this card I actually did both. Here are the parameters

Now I think I was pretty clever with how I used an envelope, I actually cut one in half and made it a gift card holder under the bottom flap. I think the bright colours would be perfect for a party. I have 2 crowns, one on the “P” on the front of the card, and one on the princess that is inside the card. The 3 strips of paper were used to makes the verticle belly ban. Green cardstock, green patterned paper, and flower the paper. So for my personal challenge I used the Slim Flaps and Frames and the Mini Pops for the mechanisms I haven’t used in a while, and the Word set 5- Royalty for the die set I’ve never used before.
