Magnet Fairytale Scene

hello hello, today is the June design team challenge day. Our theme this month is “ Animals & Characters”, we were to use any of the people or animals from Karen’s collection. I was kind of stumped at first at what I was going to do because I had all of these little characters that I had previously made and wanted to use them. When I’m bored and don’t have a project on the go I make these little characters.

I decided to do something different, and make a background that could be magnetic to a fridge or a cookie sheet and then add magnets to the back of the characters to make little scenes.

I knew I would not get all of these characters descriptions done for this blog post. So I decided to do a different Post specifically for characters that I’ve made and will make in the future so they are all in one spot. I will work on completing them as soon as possible.

IMPORTANT INFO- I used flat black leftover magnet sheet that I had and trimmed. I did not use the tiny little round metal magnets, even though they are stronger because they do pose RISKS for small children. if you want to do something similar, and don’t want to risk using magnets consider Velcro or adding a popsicle stick to the back to make stick puppets.

All the fun is in the reveal, to see this project in action please check out my FACEBOOK page, feel free to join if you would like to share your own crafty creations. You can also see a video of this card on my INSTAGRAM page.

Characters……to be continued

Over the years I have made different characters paper piecing different die cuts together, so I thought instead of giving directions on every blog post for characters because some of them will be duplicates. That I would make this page and just add all my characters here this will be a continued work in progress. Blog post going forward would be linked to this page to give the product listings and directions.

I am posting pictures, but don’t have the time to give all the directions today. I will add directions when I get the chance. If you see an image that you would like direction on, please feel free to message me and I will update that one as soon as possible.

Barnyard Bash

I just love how this card turned out and am excited to share it with you today. Today is the Karen Burniston design team challenge day and the challenge for May is to “make it fluffy”. I have a fluffy sheep, fluffy clouds, and fluffy icing on my cupcakes. I decided to make this barnyard bash card for my Granddaughters first birthday card. Her stuffed cow is her favourite so I thought I’d make her a cow with all her barn yard buddies.

Hoppy Birthday- Design team Challenge

I’m running a little behind, but today is the Karen Burniston design team challenge. This card takes me back to my punch art days. I always found it fun using shapes to make other images. This months challenge is “Set Sail”. You you may be wondering what does a frog have to do with a boat. Well, she said we had to use a boat, but she didn’t say how. Look really close and you will see that the mouth of the frog is made out of the new Boat Pop up die set.

Tea-riffic Day

Today’s the day, it’s Karen Burniston’s new release sneak peek, and it is such a fun release. I’m a tea drinker so I was really happy to see the borders and pop up.

I thought it would be so cute if I used pieces from the Tea and Coffee Borders, the Tea and Coffee Pop up, and Lorna Label to make this cute little girls Tea Party.
