Crisp Cozy and Colorful

I absolutely love fall colours, they are so rich and vibrant. When I received the Fall Phrases stamp set I just knew I had to create a fall bouquet. I have a niece that has an Autumn birthday so I decided to make this colourful bouquet card for her.

All the fun is in the reveal, to see this card in action please check out my FACEBOOK page, feel free to join if you would like to share your own crafty creations. You can also see a video of this card on my INSTAGRAM page.

I started by choosing the patterned paper that I was going to use for the background, then I chose the colours for the card base and the leaves. I wanted a lot of texture and dimension so I also chose different kinds of mulberry paper and coordinating pattern paper as well. I cut multiple leaves and flowers from different sets (they will all be listed at the end of this post) Because I had so many different leaves I used different techniques to add shading. For some I brushed on ink to add to different sections, and for some of the smaller pieces I used alcohol markers to add shading. I decided to hold off adding the white highlights until I add to the card so I can get the placement of the highlights correct.

I want a square card so I cut the cardbase to the dimensions shown below. I cut the other layers as shown. I cut the centers out of 3 of the panels to conserve cardstock. Layer as shown.

Add the panels to cardbase as shown below.

I decided to use the Photo Fan pop up up for my mechanism (Karen has a video tutorial on the product page at the link ⬆️ ) . I die cut 2 and assembled as per Karens directions and added to the cardbase as shown.

I started adding white highlights using a Gelly Roll pen, then adding them to the card. I open and close the card between each addition to make sure that the piece don’t get snagged on each other while opening and closing. Some of the stems I decided to separate and add into some of the tighter spaces.

I stamped the squirrel face from the Fun Faces 1 stamps and cut the squirrel from the Woodland Animals out then coloured with alcohol markers. I stamped the Fall phrase onto a label from the Rectangles and Labels. I layered the label onto yellow. I sponged matching ink along the edges. I created a matching label for a place to sign. I added these elements to the card and added a few leaves to embellish.

I cut out the pieces from the Happy Birthday Lorna Label Add on as shown and assembled. I added shading with a Versa Mark Marker, and highlights with a white Gelly Roll pen. I cut out the greeting to add it to the label that matches the inside. I layered the greeting and the label pieces to the front of the card and added a few leaves and flowers as shown.
