Who Wants to Build A Snowman-C4C562

Isn’t it funny how one idea turns into another, then another and then poof you have something completely different that what you originally planned, that is exactly how this card started. This weeks challenge was to make a card with a snowman ⛄️ on it, and I originally planned on just using a snowman stamp, 🤔 then I was going to diecut a snowman, then I planned on having a card that had flaps and as you opened it, it would show a different part of the snow man and when 3 flaps were opened I would have a complete snowman….. and then I came up with this. It reminds me of a book I read as a child where you can move the flaps and the characters would change clothes.

Here is what I came up with, and these photos are all taken of the same card.

All the fun is in the reveal, to see this card in action please check out my FACEBOOK page, feel free to join if you would like to share your own crafty creations.

EDIT if you came here from Facebook but not my page, I was unable to post videos to all the other pages I generally post to (I just posted a picture). There is a video on my My Messy Craft room page. It’s a long clip so it made it to big and took too much time to share.

You can also see a video of this card on my INSTAGRAM page.

The main colours of cardstock I used is Pretty Peacock, and Whisper White, the rest of the colours I pulled from my scrap bin. The plaid paper is from my stash and the other 2 patterns are retired Stampin Up.

So I decided that from this point on the decorations can be what ever you want them to be. I mostly did trial and error until I got the look that I liked. But what I have probably isn’t what you have anyway so make what you have work.

I went through my stash for some of the stuff below, circle dies, the hat, and scarf, and tie, are hand cut with the exception of circle punches for the middle knots. The sign is a retired Stampin’ Up! set that I stamped and punched to make the Merry Christmas greeting. And the tree is from the Karen Burniston Tree pop-up dieset, But you can hand cut branches if you need to.

On the front panels I decided to use some thicker embellishments, so the ribbon scarf, the buttons, the black pearls for eyes are only on the front panels, I pulled these all from my stash some I’ve had for YEARS LOL. The other two snowmen decorations are made out of card stock and designer paper.
