Trying really hard to get back on track, well at least this week’s Crazy4Challenges challenge is done on time π it’s the third weekend of the month and that means it is a sketch challenge. I don’t typically make Halloween cards but I thought that I would give it a go. I can’t take much credit for the card as the front is a design challenge and the inside is a close re-creation of a Karen Burniston card.

the sketch

so originally I was going to make a card with flowers but I thought spider webs would be cute, I remembered a card that Karen Burniston had done a few years ago, so I tracked it down and away I went.
The cardstock used is from Stampin Up and are listed below. The die sets used to make this card are the Twist Circle die set and Midnight the Bat both from Karen Burniston. I used Karen’s VIDEO to create the mechanism, she also shows how to make the web and how to convert Midnight the Bat to a big creepy spider.

How to make the two larger snowflakes, I only had vellum cardstock which is a quite a bit stiffer than normal vellum. It does make the card harder to fold so if I every try to make a similar card I will make sure I have regular Vellum to make the webs.

How to make Midnight the Bat into a big spider, and the itty bitty bat into an itty bitty spider.

Now for the mechanism…. you really should watch the VIDEO as it is a little tricky

The small Pumpkin Pie square was stamped with an old Stampin Up stamp and Basic Black ink. It was cut out with the scalloped square die from Karen Burnistons Upsy Daisy die set.

I used a Black Fastener (like a giant staple) on the left side of the card.
For the itty bitty spider webs I was able to find some small scrap pieces of vellum.

Back to the inside…….

Wow , you are a paper engineer. This is such a fun card. I don’t have a twist circle die so I have time to study and think about this one. lol
