Seasons Change Golden Anniversary

Hello, hello, its that time again Crafty Friends, today I have my September Karen Burniston Design Team challenge card. This months challenge is “four seasons” and we had to incorporate 4 seasons in our cards. In Karen “Seasons” stamp set there are stamps the say “seasons change”, “and love remains” which I thought would be perfect for an anniversary card.

All the fun is in the reveal, to see this card in action please check out my FACEBOOK page, feel free to join if you would like to share your own crafty creations. You can also see a video of this card on my INSTAGRAM page.

I cut the card base and panels as shown below. I cut the centers out of the gold card stock, it will be covered anyway so it would be a waste to not use it in an other way.

Using a brush and black ink I inked the edges of the pattern paper. I don’t typically add layers to the back of my cards. But I wanted the weight of the card to be balanced and because it’s such a significant anniversary I am putting the extra effort into this card. The pic below is of the front and back of the card.

I cut and scored the black cardstock as shown below and die cut the mechanism piece from the Twist Panel Pop up into it. (Karen has a video tutorial on the product page at the link ⬆️ )

Cut 2 strips of the patterned paper as shown. I should have inked the edges but forgot.

Add the gold frame and the 2 strips as shown, then add the mechanism piece.

This is where I noticed I forgot to ink the edges of the pattern paper strips. So I masked the edges of the black card stock and inked the pattern paper so it would all match when the card is done.

Cut the two extra panels as shown, and ink the edges and then add to the card base as shown. I didn’t do an amazing job of lining up the patterns but with this particular pattern and the inking it is not very noticeable.

I die cut the panels, and gold frames using dies from the Twist Panel pop-up set. I cut the pattern rectangles as shown below. I used a corner rounder to round the edges and inked as well.

I used the Trees Add on dieset to add the four seasons of trees to the panels. The trunks are gold and the snow is actually cut from glitter cardstock.

Add the tree panels to the card base.

Using a gold marker and my Stamp Positioner , I stamped the stamps “Seasons Change” and the “and love remains” from the Anniversary stamp set. I did not measure when I cut the stamp images out. But the gold and the black layers are each a quarter of an inch longer and wider with each layer.

Cut a black panel and gold frame as shown. Diecut Happy Anniversary and 50h from the Numbers die sets. Add to the card as shown.

I found these little gold hearts in my stash and added a few to the front and the inside. I decided to not add a message block because I will be signing with the gold marker and it has a fairly thick nib, I’m concerned that I won’t be able to keep the signatures in a block.
