Mix it up Monday-Hugs, Cuddles, and Kisses Baby Blanket

So today I have special blanket and pillow set that I made especially for my very first granddaughter, I have made this type of polar fleece knot blanket before, but this time I wanted it to be extra special so I decided to cross stitch a special message.

You can see more of my projects, and others projects on my FACEBOOK page, feel free to join if you would like to share your own crafty creations. You can also see my projects on my INSTAGRAM page.

In the past I have only done this blanket with 2 pieces. A pattern on one side and a solid on the other. This time I wanted to add my own special message so I thought I would have different blocks on one side and a solid on the other side. I decided to cross stitch my message on the middle block. I worked my way through this blanket by figuring out as I went. Lol how I usually do things.

I used a water soluble Canvas so I would be able to cross stitch on the white block without having to use Aida cloth.

Make sure the fabric is completely dry before cutting.

When tiring the blocks together I start in the middle and used the Plaid as the blocks above, below and on either side of the middle block which is the stitched block. I did this so I can cheat a little and use the lines on the plaid to help keep everything even.

If you tie all the knots the same way, then when done the fringe will all match, so on the solid pink side the fringe will be black and white, and on the pattern and block side all the fringe will be pink. It is more visible on the pillow picture below.
