What do you get when you cross a Christmas card with a Valentines Day Card??? a little something like this. This was a card that the boyfriend of a friend of mine commisioned me to make. He was very clear with what he wanted, he even picked the colours. His exact words were I want a WOW card that will show my Sweetheart how much I love her. AWWWW challenge accepted and this is what I came up with.

Ok, so most of the supplies are from Stampin’ Up. The cardstock colours are Real Red, Pretty in Pink, Very Vanilla (card base & letters), Basic Black, Crumb Cake, Chocolate Chip, Early Espresso (reindeer), and a little bit of Garden Green (wreaths & mistletoe). The Striped Paper is really pretty, its hard to tell but all the red stripes are actually glittery. It is really hard to see but I did stamp little snowflakes on the front of the card and put little gems stones in the centres. I used a Stampin’ Up die to cut out the tag on the front, and the speech bubble on the inside and the sentiments are also Stampin’ UP stamps. All the red hearts are from a retired Stampin’ Up punch.
The Reindeers are from a die set from Karen Burniston called Rudy the Reindeer. I cut him out 4 times in 2 different colours. I wanted the female deer and the male deer to look a little different. I cut out the female deer in reverse so the reindeer are facing each other as opposed to side by side. I trimmed the antlers of the female deer. I also purposely aimed their eyes looking up at the mistletoe on the front of the card, and each other on the inside of the card. I gave her a little pink bow and him a wreath around his neck just to add a little character.
The letters in the word LOVE I cut out with my CRICUT. I cut the front of the letters and the shadow of the letters.
To make the action part of the card I followed a couple different Youtube videos calling the card Twist and Pop (sorry, I made this card a while back and can’t find the exact video that I used). Since I made this card I have purchased the Twist Panel Pop up dies from Karen Burniston which would have made this card waayyyy easier to make. I did not use it for this card but here is a video link https://youtu.be/BuNlkY3x4t0 When glueing down the red striped paper on the bottom of the inside I only added adhesive to the very top, and the sides. I did this so I could add a really large tag to be slipped in, and then pulled out and the message for the recipient will be written on the tag. I used a piece of the same red ribbon from on the front of the card to attach to the bottom of the tag so the recipient has something to pull
some little tidbits
– I sponged the Pretty in Pink pieces with some Real Red Ink.
– The red border on the front of the card is actually a glittery red ribbon I had in my stache, also used at the bottom of the hidden tag
-the mistletoe was made using the wreath die from the reindeer set and cutting it into pieces, then adding little pearls as the berries.
-I used Red Stampin Details to add berries to the wreaths around the Reindeers neck.
-I added pearls to the sides of the pink tag on the front, the pearls are also from Stampin’Up
-the gems that are scattered throughout the card are from the dollar store.
