There is a bit of a benefit when some of your family doesn’t follow your blog or your social media ( or anything on the internet ), you can post their birthday card before their birthday 😜 sshhhhh
This weeks Craft Roulette Parameters weren’t too difficult, so I decided to give myself a couple extra challenges, 1 was to make a pop-up card that works with the rest of the parameters, and 2 was to make it masculine. CR parameters ⬇️
One of the challenges for me was to find patterned paper that was the colour of “Flowering Fields” but could still be used on a masculine card. The colours on the stripes look like they were painted on.

It’s Craft Roulette time, I actually just got the card done in time for the Sunday night deadline, lol, so I didn’t get my blog post done until now. I found this weeks parameters a little bit tricky. Parameter 1- was a Dutch Door card, meaning the front had to be split having a top and a bottom. I chose to have my bottom open to the left and my top open to the right. Parameter 2- the colours had to be campfire colours, Parameter 3- had to be a page from a book and Parameter 4- it had to have a hat or cap. My gnomes are all wearing hats, but I could not cut a page out of a book. So I decided to take a page out of a colouring book, and colour the flowers in yellows, oranges and reds. I don’t colour often so this was my time consuming part lol, I’ll explain more in the details below. And of course my own parameter was to make a pop up card.

It’s that time, time for the May Karen Burnistons Design Team Challenge. This months challenge is “Bejewelled” , we need to incorporate something Shiny or Sparkly. I wanted to find a fun way to used the Swirls Pattern plate in a different way, I thought it would be pretty to make a swirly rainbow shaker card. And can you believe or, it’s not a pop up card 😳

I am soooo excited to share this card, it has been brewing in my brain for a really long time. I had visions of an under water castle with mermaids and sea creatures but never took the time to actually make it and then….. Karen came out with this release and I knew that it was time. The jellyfish and sea horse from the Sea charms are so adorable and the crabs, well there is a whole family of them now. I also used the new Beach Borders, a few pieces from the Beach Bar Tiny House Add on and the Rectangles and Labels Crosshatch. This is what I came up with

Years ago, like 2006ish I made my first waterfall card. I was part of a Stampin Up group and it was taught to us in a class, I remember thinking it was so fun making this interactive card BUT, all the pieces were cut and scored with a trimmer, and the measurements had to be just right (the measurements for that card had very small flaps) or it wouldn’t flip. So as fun as I thought it was I never made another one, with a trimmer anyway. I’ve made a few using Karen Burnistons Frame Pull Pop up, but that also needs some alterations. This is my first time using Karen Burnistons Waterfall Card die set and this set definitely makes it way easier. I made this card in one evening.
