I was looking forward to making one of these cards when I first saw the YouTube Magical Rain Shaker Card Video by Laura Dovalo. I thought this was such a fun idea, but I had no idea who I was going to make it for, well I showed a friend of mine and she REALLY wanted me to make one for her to give to someone who brightens her days, soooo that was they only thing I needed, and away I went. The hardest part about making the card was beading on the really thin line that I had, as the beads were too small for needle to go through and my eyes had a hard time seeing the itty bitty holes in the beads, but I got it done.

Pop up, Shaker, 50th Birthday card-C4C502

*I’ve been pretty busy the last few weeks making some pretty detailed cards, so it has been difficult to actually blog, stay tuned there are some interesting cards coming ( I also work full time)but here is one I am finally able to post. It is the weekend so that means it’s time for the Crazy4Challenges challenge and I created this card for that challenge. So apparently September 15th is International Dot day, so the challenge was to incorporate dots into my design. Some are obvious and some are so itty bitty you may not notice unless I point them out, But they are there. This card was a special request from my coworker Katherine to her sister, and some of the little elements added were suggestions from Katherine to make the card a little more personal. so here we go, can you see all the dots…

a Rose for your Birthday

I have a really busy week, so I had to pull a card from my photo archive. I also have been working on a really crazy card that I can’t post quite yet, but when you see how much work was put into It you will understand where my time has been going. anyway, this card uses one of my favourite old techniques, it is called Reinker Spread, as it uses die ink pad refills to colour in the image, it is a kind of water colour but you have to trust how it will turn out as it does get out of your control how the water moves the ink around.

Soooo I’m back, I apologise to anyone that is following about not posting since last week, I’ve had a crazy week, and I’m running crazy behind today. ok, so this weeks Crazy 4 Challenges challenge is to use colour blocking. a lot of the samples that I saw used strips, but I thought that I would try something a little different.

Birthday

Happy Birthday Bear-C4C500

so it’s the beginning of a long weekend Yaaaaaayyyyyy, and it is also Crazy4Challenges day. This weeks challenge was to create a shaped card. I actually have been meaning to try this for a while so I was I excited to give this a whirl. I decided to use My Scan n Cut to create a larger version of a die cut character that I have, and it worked great.
