Dreaming of Flowers

Hello Crafty Friends, I am going out side of my comfort zone a bit and I’ve decided to try my hand at creating some tutorial videos. I know they are a bit rough compared to most of the tutorials out there but I figured you got to start somewhere and since I didn’t know how to blog when I started, that this would be the next step in my cardmaking journey.

All the fun is in the reveal, to see this card in action please check out my FACEBOOK page, feel free to join if you would like to share your own crafty creations. You can also see a video of this card on my INSTAGRAM page.

So it doesn’t make sense for me to video my entire card making process because it would be a four hour long video. So this post is going to be a combination of pictures and a couple video clips, so here goes…..

I started by diecutting and assembling flower die cuts from the Flower Pot Pop Up, the new Flower Pot Add on and a few pieces from the Bouquet Bits

This is how I add shading and highlights, VIDEO 1- Dimension to die cuts

I cut the card base and panels as shown below to make a 5” x 7” card.

The inside of the card.

I diecut and assembled the flower pot from the Flower Pot Pop up as per Karens videos (tutorial at link) I brushed a darker shade of ink around the edges.

Now we will jump to my Flower Pot Add On Video, where I show how to attach the pop up to the new mechanism. In the video I have two little mistakes. One I’m showing here where the pink corners of the square are kind of bent funny. And the other one is a leaf sticking outside the edge of the card. I will fix both of those problems.

To fix the pink square I trimmed off the little bit that attach them together. And then covered with die cut flowers.

To do the front of this card I actually just took leftover pieces and just kept adding things until it was done. The sticker frame came from the same scrapbook kit that the paper came from, and where I drew the colours from. instead of cutting off the stem with the leaf from the inside of the card, I added the same stem to the front of the card to make it look like it was part of the front flower display.

Thanks for joining me! I am a paper crafting enthusiast who has a special interest in interactive cards. I get a lot of inspiration from the internet so I thought that I  would throw out my own creations with hope that it inspires someone else.
