Crafty Friend Birthday Card

I am sooo bummed, I just did this blog, the entire thing, was in the very last steps and for some reason my app closed and I lost it all 😢 so here I go again. I really like how this colour combo works together. I’m not typically a yellow/orange person but I really like how these colours pop against the blue. I’ve been having so much fun with Craft Roulette, so I thought I’d play again. This weeks parameters were to have a “card on a card”, “Sky view” colours, it had to have a “table” (this one almost got me) end it had to have white dots or spots. So I went with a messy craft table, with a slimline card sitting on top (bonus challenge, if you know me if there is a card on my messy table it would be a pop up card, so I made a pop up card for my mini card) The colours I chose remind me of a sunset. And the flowers all have little white dots and the gems look like white dots against the blue. This card design is based on a Valentine card that Karen Burniston made a few years ago.

All the fun is in the reveal, to see this card in action please check out my FACEBOOK page, feel free to join if you would like to share your own crafty creations. You can also see a video of this card on my INSTAGRAM page.

1- I picked a navy card stock from Core color, the pattern paper and clear plastic are from my stash all the dimensions are listed below

2- assemble the card base as shown, the plastic piece is slightly shorter so it doesn’t get bound up in the fold. Use the blue strip to cover the adhesive that is visible from the inside.

3- die cut and assemble the Rockin Rectangle as shown, add to card, click the link for video from Karen

4- I have wood patterned sticker sheets, I added it to cardstock and cut it with the largest rectangle from the Rockin Rectangle set. add to the card base

5- I decided to make a mini slimline, dimensions below, the stamp is retired Stampin Up.

6- I diecut pieces from the Office Charms set, and the flowers and leaves from the Flip Frame pop up.

7- square boxes 1/4” x 2, and 3/8” x 1, will be used to make the pop ups inside the mini card.

8- I cut matching little strips and decorated the mini card as shown.

9- add the elements to the table top, and a few gems, I also decorated the left side of the card front.

10- I diecut “my friends” from Word Set 1 Greetings , and “CRAFTY” from the Mini Alphabet and Numbers dieset, and added to the mechanism arm, and decorated as shown.

11- the table wasn’t messy enough so I added gold thread to the mini card and the table top, I also added a pokey tool. The faux bow was made separately because it was pretty tough trying to make a bow on a mini card that was already adhered to the card.

Other Tools used
