Surprise Ball Christmas Card- C4C515

*So this is the last Crazy4Challenges challenge of the year, our challenge this week was to choose a design from one of the previous design challenges, and I decided to use my Surprise Ball pop up to make it a little more interesting.

I chose do to the C4C484 design, I decided to make the largest circle into a window and make it a pop up card.

The fun is in the “POP” so to see this card in action please check out my Facebook page, feel free to join if you would like to add your own creations.

The card stock is from Stampin’Up and the colours are listed below,

To make this card you will need the Surprise Ball Pop up die set from Karen Burniston, and I recommend watching her VIDEO as she gives the best directions. I also used Chilly the penguin but he is a retired die set.

in retrospect I wouldn’t have had the pattern behind the penguin as it is visible through the window and it is a little busier than I would have liked.

to add the Flocked Acetate I had to cut glue dots in half and stick them behind the red flocking. I tried liquid glue at first and it didn’t work.

I added the ribbon border because the card was so thick and the ball was giving a little tension to the card that and the acetated on the left side didn’t want to stay stuck down, so the ribbon is helping to hold that side down.

I was going to try to use magnets to keep the card closed, but the ball added too much force so I decided to tie it shut with a ribbon.
