Tri-foldWedding Card-C4C490

Today is Crazy 4 Challenges day and this weeks challenge is to create a Tri-fold card, it has to have at least 2 folds and 3 panels, and this is what I came up with, it’s kind of a gatefold card with a panel on the left and the right when closed makes a border at the top and the bottom.

So I do have to to give some credit to Jennifer McGuire I was binge watching her videos the morning I created this card, it isn’t an exact replica of any one card in particular but I did use a few of her ideas and incorporated them in.

I started out by cutting three each of the top and the bottom panels with Blue Bayou cardstock, the die is from Stampin Up

I glued them on top of each other to make the panels a little thicker.

I cut a piece of  Very Vanilla card stock the 5 1/4″ x 8″ scored at 2″ and 6″ (2 inches on each side and 4″ in the middle) and I folded the 2 sides in.

I cut 2 Vellum Cardstock panels to cover the side panels, 2″ x 5 1/4″, I used Sticky Foam Strips on the top and the bottom.

I added a thin blue strip on the top of the left panel and the bottom of the right panel to cover the adhesive strips showing through the Vellum.

On the panel that is meant to go on the bottom, I used Neutral PH Adhesive from Lineco and only put it on what would be the 2″ that would be on the left side of the border, If I had put adhesive across the whole piece the card would have been glued shut.

I added it to the bottom left side of the card.

I added the same adhesive to what would be the 2″ of the right side of the panel that is meant to go on the top.

I added it to the top right side of the card.

I used my Wink of Stella pen to colour inside the holes of the border, only on the sides with the glue.

I used a retired SU die to cut out the banner and Blue Bayou ink to stamp Congratulations onto Very Vanilla cardstock.

and added it to the card.

On the back, I adhered a piece of Blue Bayou cardstock to 4 1/4″ x 5 1/2″.

On the inside, I cut a piece of Blue Bayou card stock to 3 3/4″ x 5″ and I stamped the floral stamp that matches the die set to the bottom and adhered it in.

I stamped the inside greeting on to a piece of VEery VAnilla Cardstock and cut it out with a rounded rectangle, and adhered it in.

After I was done I realized that the flaps would not stay closed so I added itty bitty magnets to the outside corners of the top left and bottom right, and I tucked them under the little blue banner.

and the coordinating corners on the banner pieces.

I thought it needed a little something so I adhered 3 1/2 pearls to the “Congratulations” banner.
