So this card came about because I made a different card….. it’s funny how one thing leads to another. I made a fairly similar card a couple weeks back for a friend that I thought might need a little pick me up, and I showed it to another friend. This friend decided that she also has a friend that might need a little pick me up and asked if I could make her one as well. Well, I’m pretty sure my first friend hasn’t gotten hers yet so I don’t want to post her card online yet and I don’t think my friend’s friend follows my blog sooooo I decided to post hers first. LOL, are you able to follow 🙂 anyway here goes?

This lovely flower pot and the flowers that are in it are Dies from Karen Burnistons “Flowerpot Pop up” die set, I didn’t use them as per her directions as I thought that they would also make a really cute Easel card.
All the cardstock is from Stampin’ Up and the colours used are Night of Navy, Blue Bayou, Pretty in Pink, Pink Pirouette, Whisper White, Early Espresso, Crushed Curry, Garden Green, Really Rust, and Cajun Craze.
To make the card base I used a Night of Navy piece of cardstock that is 8 1/2″ x 4 1/4″ scored at 4 1/4″ and 6 3/8″, and another piece of card stock cut at 4 1/4″ x 4 1/4″
add adhesive to the top flap ( the smaller flap) as shown
and then adhere the 4 1/4″ x 4 1/4″ square to the adhesive as shown.
Next, I cut out 2 pieces of 4″ x 4″ in the Blue Bayou, I ran one of them through my Big Shot with a Hounds Tooth embossing folder (purchased from Stampin’ Up) and then I used Night Of Navy ink and I sponged the edges of both squares.
The embossed Square I adhered to the top of the top panel of the card, the not embossed square I adhered to the inside square.
To create the flower pot I ran the pieces of Really Rust and Cajun Craze through the big shot with the flower pot dies and trimmed as shown.
I sponged the edges with Cajun Craze ink and added adhesive to one of the flower pots as shown.
I adhered one of the flower pots to the other and added the accent pieces as shown.
I used Stampin’ Dimensions and added the flowerpot to the front of the card as shown.
Next, I cut out all the flowers and leaves, and the “thinking of you” message which I cut out 3 times.
I assembled the flowers and added a plastic water droplet to the centres of all the flowers, and I layered the messages one on top of each other to make it nice and thick (a trick I learned from watching Jennifer McGuire videos on YouTube)
Now the fun, adding all the flowers to the flower pot.
I adhered the “Thinking of You” to the bottom of the inside of the card, I needed it thick because when the card is set up as an easel it needs something to use as a stopper to keep the card upright. I used a Wink of Stella (Stampin’ Up) to add a little glitter to the greeting.
I cut out and assembled one more flower to add as an accent for beside the greeting.
I tied a piece of twine around the flower pot in a little bow, which I should have done before I glued it down 🤦♀️ but I got it on there 😀.
Beautiful card, love it. Great tutorial, thanks for sharing xx
