Good luck in Grade 1-August design team challenge

Hello crafty friends, today is design team challenge day and this months challenge was to make a bottom fold card. At first I was a little stumped and then I remembered a card that Karen made a few years ago (Red Christmas card) and thought that this technique would be perfect to make a box of crayons and have the crayons slide out of the box. This is what I came up with…..

I cheated a bit as it is also a gate fold card with a bottom fold that activated the mechanism. I also made a lot of mistakes and had some tech problems along the way with this one and had to change things on the fly, I will explain as I go along.

Fenced in Garden

I really get excited when I am able to design a card using a dieset that has a completely different purpose. And that’s what I was able to pull off with this card. Believe it or not the main mechanism that I used to support the fence and some of the flowers is 🥁🥁🥁🥁….. the Piano Keys Pop Up 🎹🎹🎹

Oilers Themed “Happily Ever After”

Hello, today I’m sharing a card that was an extra special request. The recipients will be celebrating a milestone anniversary and apparently they are huge Edmonton Oilers fans. So I had the dilemma, how to make a pretty card with a hockey theme. I’m glad she gave me lots of notice, because honestly I was kind of stumped. But in the end this is what I came up with.

Rainbows and Fairies

Good morning crafty friends, today I am sharing my July Karen Burniston Design Team challenge and this month’s challenge is “Rainbows”. At first I was stumped trying to come up with a unique way to make a rainbow card. I decided to add little rainbow coloured fairies and have them colouring the flowers in the rainbow colours. So if you look closely, you will see there are bits of some of the flowers that are not coloured in to imply that the fairies are colouring in all these nature elements.

Movie Night

I’m literally snacking on popcorn while writing this post lol. I used some of Karen Burnistons new dies on this card, the Whirly Wheel, and Movie Night Charms, along with a few previous released sets.
