You’re going to do amazing things….

One more back to school card. I know unicorns are not the first thing that you think of when thinking back to school, but the sweetheart this card is for, just loves unicorns (she specifically asked me to make her a unicorn card the last time I saw her LOL) so here it is…

All the fun is in the reveal, to see this card in action please check out my FACEBOOK page, feel free to join if you would like to share your own crafty creations. You can also see a video of this card on my INSTAGRAM page.

For this card I wanted to make a smaller slimline card. So I cut the card base and the panels as shown below.

The view from the outside and the inside.

I cut some frames from the Slim Frames die set with coloured backgrounds to match the colours in the flower print of the paper. I used alcohol markers to add the grain and shadows to the frames. The stamp used is from the Grad Greetings. Assemble as shown.

Now for the stars of this card. I wanted to have two different angles so I chose the unicorn from the Horse, Unicorn,& Zebra set and the unicorn from the Leaping Animals. I used the frame die to cut the unicorns to fit in the frame. The books and the apple are from the Book worm die set. I added shading with a Versa Mark Marker, and highlights with a white Gelly Roll pen. I wrapped a bit of twine and bakers twine around one of the frames. I originally laid them on the card front and it seemed to be missing something.

I cut the pieces from the Little Labels Pop up in the same colours as the front. I added shading with a Versa Mark Marker, and highlights with a white Gelly Roll pen. I wrapped a thin green ribbon a few times around the card front. I wrapped a smaller pieces around the ribbon on the inside of the card as shown then added the mechanism (Karen has a video tutorial on the product page at the link ⬆️ )

I forgot to stamp the words on the frames so I recut the white centers then stamped the greeting with an older alphabet stamp set. I added the last frame as a place to sign. For the front I added the three frames over the green ribbon.
