Baseball card-take 2

Hello crafty friends, today is designer challenge day for the Karen Burnistons design team. This months challenge is “from the fault” and we were asked to create a card using a previously made card as inspiration. I decided to use a card that I made for my nephew as inspiration, and this is what I came up with.

All the fun is in the reveal, to see this card in action please check out my FACEBOOK page, feel free to join if you would like to share your own crafty creations. You can also see a video of this card on my INSTAGRAM page.

I chose the colours show from my stash. It’s hard to see but the cream coloured cardstock is textured. I cut the card base and panels as shown, cutting the centre out of the blue one as it won’t be seen.

I layered the panels as shown, it’s hard to see but the brown panel is on the back. I cut skinny strips of the blue and brown as shown and ran the brown strip through a crisper. I added these strips to the card.

I diecut and assembled the pieces for the Little Labels (Karen has a video tutorial on the product page at the link ⬆️ ) I added pieces from the Sport Charms. I also adhered blue and brown strips on the inside to coordinate with the ones on the front. I made them all different random lengths and widths.

I add the Happy Birthday and Happy Birthday Shadow to the front. I added shading with a Versa Mark Marker, and highlights with a white Gelly Roll pen. I wanted to have some accents but didn’t want to use gems or sequins so I cut out little circles using a die from the Woven Basket dieset. I added shading with a Versa Mark Marker, and highlights with a white Gelly Roll pen

Thanks for joining me! I am a paper crafting enthusiast who has a special interest in interactive cards. I get a lot of inspiration from the internet so I thought that I  would throw out my own creations with hope that it inspires someone else.

  1. Hi Nicky. I love this masculine card with a baseball theme. I love your circle tag book too that you used for your inspiration. I really like those little tag books Karen has in her shop.
