Swirling Snowflakes

It’s been a couple of busy weeks but I finally have a card to post. I thought I would play Craft Roulette to inspire a much needed Christmas card to add to my small pile. The Craft Roulette Parameters ⬇️⬇️⬇️⬇️

How this card meets the parameters is…the mechanism in the middle is a “fancy fold” the twists when the card opens. I think of teals and silver when I think of “aquarium colours”, I used snowflakes to represent “November” and I have the little gems randomly around but I have them grouped in “clusters of 3” in several areas.

All the fun is in the reveal, to see this card in action please check out my FACEBOOK page, feel free to join if you would like to share your own crafty creations. You can also see a video of this card on my INSTAGRAM page.

1A- cut the card base and panels as shown.

B- I cut the centers out of the teal panels to lessen the bulk and save some cardstock that would otherwise just be covered.

C- I layered the teal panels then the White.

D- I added the panels to the front, back and inside of the card base.

2A- I cut out the mechanism from the Heart Collage Pop up (Karen has a video tutorial on the product page at the link ⬆️ )

B- I cut out a second mechanism and some clear plastic strips

C- I cut the arms off the second mechanism, then sandwiched the clear strips between the mechanism arms and the ones I had just cut off the second mechanism.

D- add the mechanism to the card base. I didn’t measure the clear strips, I had one that stuck out too far so I just trimmed it off.

3A-I pulled out the snowflakes from some different diesets (listed at the bottom) I diecut snowflakes from all the shades of teal, holographic silver and holographic teal.

B- cut out 3 Labels Crosshatch and the Merry Christmas from the 2 holographic papers.

C- add to the cardfront as shown.

4A- I first added the snowflakes to the arms, opening and closing to watch for catch points. Then added snowflakes from the bottom left to the top right of the inside.

B- I added little gems randomly around and in the snowflakes. Making sure to have some of them in clusters of 3

C- on the front I added snowflakes from the bottom left to the top right, then added gems the same way as the inside.
