Sweet Baby

*Wow. It’s been a while since I’ve posted but I’m back and I’m planning on posting at least weekly, 🤞🏻

I’ve made this card for my second grand baby, she is such a sweet happy little girl, that it inspired me to make her this card.

I like a challenge and I like to find new ways to use the supplies that I have. So to make the pop up crib I used the Cake Pop up and the Garden Bench pop up, both from Karen Burniston.

The Cardstock I used is from Stampin Up, the main colours are Early Espresso, Crumb Cake, Whisper White. The patterned paper is from a retired Creative Memories paper pack.

I had watched Karen Burnistons VIDEO on how she used the Cake Popup to make a stage, I thought I had remembered all the details, but I made a few little mistakes that I was able to fix. I recommend watching her VIDEO if you want to use the cake as a platform base.

Now for the crib. My intention was to have it look like a toy crib. I used Karen’s original version of the garden bench but I’m pretty sure her new version would work as well.

So Honey the Bear is an older die set from Karen Burniston, I gave him an eye transplants because in is original form he has one eye bigger than the other and I wanted him to have his eyes the same size.

Because I missed a step from the video I had to add a little extra support for the bear.

So I did some old school punch art (using dies lol) to make the baby doll and the stacking toy.

I also used the Border Blends Argyle to add borders to the top and bottom.

I used matching elements for the front. The letter dies are from my stash, I found thrift shopping.
