Carried Away Valentine

Ok, I know it’s a bit early but I’m in a Valentine mood, so I went digging through the Valentine card photos that I made last year but hadn’t posted. I don’t generally like to post a card before the recipient receives it. So I’ve got a few from last year kicking around. Today’s card is the card I made for my husband last year. Looking back at the photos I realize either I didn’t take many or I thought I had posted this card and had deleted them all. As there are no photos of me actually assembling it so I will give the best explanation that I can.

The fun is in the motion. To see this card in motion please check out my Facebook page, feel free to join if you would like to share your own crafty creations. The video can also be found on my Instagram

so i’ve gone looking and I can’t even find this card in my house so I am really winging it. It looks like it is probably about a 5′ x 7″ and and the card base is Night of Navy. The striped paper on the front is cut to be 1/4″ smaller than the card base and I am fairly sure this paper is from Kaleidoscope. I cut out the greeting from both Night of Navy and Whisper White cardstock, and adhered them to the card front slightly offset from each other. To finish the front I added a few clear bubbles as accents,

Now for the inside. The sky looks like it is Bashful Blue from Stampin UP and the grass looks like it is Pear Pizzazz also from Stampin Up, the grass was cut in a wave to look like hills. Looove this monkey, she is Jinx the monkey and she is a currently a retired Karen Burniston die set. She looks like she is cut out of Early Espresso and Close to Cocoa, black and a Real Red bow on her head.

The balloons are mostly from Karen’s Explosion Poo Up die set except the one with the ears that is a retired die. I cut out a big oval and glued all the balloons to the oval and then the monkey.

The mechanism to make this cute little monkey fly away is the Upsy Daisy pop-up die set from Karen Burniston. Generally with this mechanism you would have two arms, one on each side. On this card I only use one. I added the balloons and the monkey to the mechanism.

I used my Scan N Cut to print out the inside greeting then used some cloud dies to cut them out, and adhered them and a few other clouds to the inside of the card. The greeting says “Sometimes I get carried away….. with how much I love you”
