When creating a card for the blog hops I try to think outside the box a bit. I decided to use the Gazebo Add on but with a twist on the proportions. Instead of it being a gazebo, I made it into a bird feeder.

So for those of you that follow me you know that I love shading and highlights. I cut out the pieces for the Gazebo Stage Add on from this pretty teal cardstock. (Karen will have a video tutorial on the product page soon at the link ⬆️ ) When cutting the roofs you can see the one on the left in the first photo is embossed, and on the one on the right I added shading to the bottom and right sides of the shingles using alcohol markers. Then I used a white gelly roll pen to add highlights to the top and left sides. I added details to the rails using the same markers and pen. Before I attached the 2 halves of the roof I cut a small piece out of each half (seen in photo) then attached them together. I added a little bit of twine through the hole.

Before assembling the stage portion, I cut the top panels and I needed to find a way to make it look like bird seed. First I took different colours of brown markers and tapped it on to the panels. It wasn’t giving me the desired effect so I cut out the little circles from the Cascade Pop Up. I added shading and highlights then added them to the panels. I added the panels to the Stage Pop up adding one of the support strips sandwiched between the 2 halves. (Karen has a video tutorial on the product page at the link ⬆️ )

I really wanted to use this blue wood grain sticker paper that I got form the dollar store but it was too thin so I stuck it to a piece of grey cardstock then cut out the band that goes around the stage, and for the railing sections. I added them to the stage as per Karen’s Instructions.

Now I needed to make a bird. I used the circles from the Cascade Pop up and the bird pieces from the Mini Ball Pop Up. I added shading with alcohol markers and highlights with a white gelly roll pen and assembled as shown. I added the bird to the centre support.

I cut the backs off the feet and tucked them under the bird and attached them to the floor of the bird feeder. I decided that I didn’t like the grey up the back so I cut out another circle and glued it to the back.

I added some of the matching sticker sheet to the bottom and added the I LOVE YOU from the Pop n Swap

so it’s supposed to be a Robin but my granddaughter thinks its an owl. Lol.
