Pushing up Daisies (in a good way)

Quick side note-Wordpress has changed some of their editing and formatting, and I’m still trying to figure it out, I can’t edit my links so there may not be as many of them. Also apologies over the overall look, there are spaces where there shouldn’t be and alignment is way off , not lovin the update, I had A LOT of difficulties tonight. Anyway, on with the show ….

This card was as fun to make as it was frustrating, if you read through you will see how even if you make mistakes along the way (and I made a few with this one) it is still possible to have a really great card in the end, just fix your mistake and move on to the next step. This card wouldn’t have been possible without this amazing video tutorial https://youtu.be/lvbe8unPQZE from Laura Dovalo https://www.youtube.com/user/ladovalo/videos. I recommend watching her video if you plan on making this card as it is a little tricky, but great interactive card at the end.

Christmas in July Snowflake card ❄️C4C492

It’s C4C day and today’s challenge is to make a Christmas card, Honestly I have a hard time making Christmas this far in advance, I see people chatting about starting their Christmas cards early so they aren’t so rushed closer to the season but for some reason my brain does not really want to go there. I had actually jumped ahead and did next week’s card first and I still had some of the paper still sitting on my work table. I had originally thought I would water colour my card for next week but hadn’t so my palette with inks in it and paintbrush were still there so I played with it and a piece of watercolour paper, I grabbed my favourite snowflake stamp set, a KB die set and away I went.

“Nothin but Net”🏀

Too funny, I’ve never needed a basketball card before and then I needed 2 in one week and of course I couldn’t make the same one twice. Actually, I had already planned this card for my son’s friend but his birthday was after my daughter’s friend so I came up with a different CARD for him and kept my original plan this card. It’s hard to see in the photos but the basketball arm moves up and down and the basketball also spins. I will have a video posted on my Facebook at My Messy Craftroom

Sandcastle Bridge Card-Die Cut Divas Guest designer Tropical/ Summer theme

Soooo excited, this week I am a guest designer for the Die Cuttin’ Divas Weekly Challenge Blog, and this week’s challenge is to create anything Tropical or Summer themed, and what’s more summer-themed than a giant sandcastle. I got inspiration from a couple of different sources to make this card. First I saw a tutorial for a sandcastle card from Karen Burniston where she used her Castle Pop-up and her Ice Cream Sundae Pop-up  to make an interactive Pop up castle, the only problem was I don’t have the Ice Cream Sundae Pop-up, so I was trying to work it out in my head how I would make a fun but different Sand Castle card. Then I was binge-watching Jennifer McGuire videos and I came across her video on how to make a Bridge Card and I thought WOW the Castle dies would be perfect for this, so away I went.

Party Animals 2.0- C4C491

So this week Crazy4Challenges challenge is a different one, apparently its national Fried Chicken 🍗 day in the U.S (who new) so this weeks challenge is to create a card with a bird on it. Well, I have a chicken 🐓 and all his barnyard friends. This card was also made as a request, I had a family friend who asked if I could make a birthday card for her grandson, I believe her words were “Can you make a birthday card for my almost-three-year-old grandson, maybe a farm theme” What my crazy craft brain heard was “I need a farm card with every farm animal you have, make sure ist big, bright, multicoloured, with balloons, streamers and party hats……. oh and don’t forget the cupcakes.”   My son actually told me I was insane 🤪hahaha

I made a Party Animal Card a while back that is a little smaller.
