Welcome to the weekend, and another Crazy4Challenges challenge. this weeks challenge was to focus on the Sentiment, to make the sentiment the star of the card. I had to think a bit on this one, but then it came to me when a friend asked me to make a Birthday card for her son. I know him a little and I know that he fairly recently got a tattoo of the “HA HA HA” Joker themed tattoo. We gave him a bit of a hard time about the tattoo so I thought he would get a kick out of a Joker themed card using the same kind of look as the tattoo.
I have to say this card was actually a little frustrating to make at first, as everything I was trying to do was not turning out like I had planned, so I kept putting my mistakes aside and trying again or moving on, but in the end I ended using all the mistake pieces, some extra pieces, I changed ideas as I went, and the card turned out way better for it than I thought it would.

I am so excited to be sharing this card, I never thought I would have the opportunity to make a Harry Potter wedding card, so when the opportunity came up I decided that this should be a very special card. It took a lot of planning, and a lot of tweaking, but I was determined to find a way to make this big castle fold into a card. It turned out much better than expected and I am pleased to share how I did it with you.
I was looking forward to making one of these cards when I first saw the YouTube Magical Rain Shaker Card Video by Laura Dovalo. I thought this was such a fun idea, but I had no idea who I was going to make it for, well I showed a friend of mine and she REALLY wanted me to make one for her to give to someone who brightens her days, soooo that was they only thing I needed, and away I went. The hardest part about making the card was beading on the really thin line that I had, as the beads were too small for needle to go through and my eyes had a hard time seeing the itty bitty holes in the beads, but I got it done.
I’ve been pretty busy the last few weeks making some pretty detailed cards, so it has been difficult to actually blog, stay tuned there are some interesting cards coming ( I also work full time)but here is one I am finally able to post. It is the weekend so that means it’s time for the Crazy4Challenges challenge and I created this card for that challenge. So apparently September 15th is International Dot day, so the challenge was to incorporate dots into my design. Some are obvious and some are so itty bitty you may not notice unless I point them out, But they are there. This card was a special request from my coworker Katherine to her sister, and some of the little elements added were suggestions from Katherine to make the card a little more personal. so here we go, can you see all the dots…

I have a really busy week, so I had to pull a card from my photo archive. I also have been working on a really crazy card that I can’t post quite yet, but when you see how much work was put into It you will understand where my time has been going. anyway, this card uses one of my favourite old techniques, it is called Reinker Spread, as it uses die ink pad refills to colour in the image, it is a kind of water colour but you have to trust how it will turn out as it does get out of your control how the water moves the ink around.
The is a simple card that I had made a little while back (preblog so there are not a lot of photos) I really think this shade of Teal against the dark brown is really striking, but then again I have always been a sucker for the teal and turquoises, This size of card is a little different then the size I generally make but I think it works great with the rest of the design.
Too funny, I’ve never needed a basketball card before and then I needed 2 in one week and of course I couldn’t make the same one twice. Actually, I had already planned this card for my son’s friend but his birthday was after my daughter’s friend so I came up with a different CARD for him and kept my original plan this card. It’s hard to see in the photos but the basketball arm moves up and down and the basketball also spins. I will have a video posted on my Facebook at My Messy Craftroom
Soooo excited, this week I am a guest designer for the Die Cuttin’ Divas Weekly Challenge Blog, and this week’s challenge is to create anything Tropical or Summer themed, and what’s more summer-themed than a giant sandcastle. I got inspiration from a couple of different sources to make this card. First I saw a tutorial for a sandcastle card from Karen Burniston where she used her Castle Pop-up and her Ice Cream Sundae Pop-up to make an interactive Pop up castle, the only problem was I don’t have the Ice Cream Sundae Pop-up, so I was trying to work it out in my head how I would make a fun but different Sand Castle card. Then I was binge-watching Jennifer McGuire videos and I came across her video on how to make a Bridge Card and I thought WOW the Castle dies would be perfect for this, so away I went.

So this week Crazy4Challenges challenge is a different one, apparently its national Fried Chicken 🍗 day in the U.S (who new) so this weeks challenge is to create a card with a bird on it. Well, I have a chicken 🐓 and all his barnyard friends. This card was also made as a request, I had a family friend who asked if I could make a birthday card for her grandson, I believe her words were “Can you make a birthday card for my almost-three-year-old grandson, maybe a farm theme” What my crazy craft brain heard was “I need a farm card with every farm animal you have, make sure ist big, bright, multicoloured, with balloons, streamers and party hats……. oh and don’t forget the cupcakes.” My son actually told me I was insane 🤪hahaha
I made a Party Animal Card a while back that is a little smaller.
This is a special post, this post is part of a blog hop that is in tribute to Joanne Grzelak, she was a member of the Crazy4Challenges blog group before I was asked to join, and even though I didn’t get the privilege to know her personally after viewing some of her work I felt I’d like to pay my respects to this very talented lady by joining in this blog hop. We had a few options to choose from and I chose to use one of her cards as inspiration to make my card. After looking through her blog I found this card that she posted on Saturday, May 9, 2015, that she named “The Crazies Appreciate Teachers”
This is my take on Joanne’s Card
