Congrats, you did it

I needed to make a masculine grad card so I went digging through my paper stash and found the greyish paper that isn’t quite camo but has the greys and a bit of the burgundy so I grabbed burgundy cardstock for the card base and came up with this.

All the fun is in the reveal, to see this card in action please check out my FACEBOOK page, feel free to join if you would like to share your own crafty creations. You can also see a video of this card on my INSTAGRAM page.

I cut out the card base and mechanism piece from burgundy cardstock using the Tagbook Pop Up dieset. I used the same large tag to cut out 4 tags from the patterned paper. Assemble the card base adding the patterned paper to the front back and inside (Karen has a video tutorial on the product page at the link ⬆️)

When creating the mechanism I like to add the arm covers (in the patterned paper) before folding, I find it easier this way and I’m less likely to fold the arms wrong.

I cut the frames and panels from the patterned paper and cream cardstock, and assembled as shown.

Using the same large tag and the stitch die from the Topper Tags set I made this border, I sponged the edges with Versa Mark ink and added to the front of the card. I also sponged Versa Mark ink to the edges of the mechanism. I added the mechanism piece into the card base piece as shown.

Using Word set 8 – Congrats I diecut “congrats” from burgundy and cream and layered as shown. And “way to go” and “you did it” from burgundy, I added shading with a Versa Mark Marker, and highlights with a white Gelly Roll pen.

I assembled a couple of diplomas and caps from the Tiny Accessories 2 set and added to the card.

Using a smaller tag from the Topper Tags set I created this pocket for the back, its cream with a burgundy trim. I added burgundy ribbon with gold thread to the tag holes. I also added some clear half-bubbles randomly around.
