Triple Flip Tea Time

It seems like it’s been months, well I guess it has since I’ve been able to play Craft Roulettte . But I made sure to make some time this weekend because I do really enjoy playing along.

Here are this weeks parameters

This is how my card meets the parameters. I’ve used the Triple Flip dieset on the front and the Twist Flower dieset (a twist can be a flip right?) on the inside, and well this card has several folds within the mechanism. Main Street colours would be the grey sidewalk, the red bricks, and the other colours would be in the murals that we have in and around our Main Street. Walks would be the cat, cats walk. And I have hearts sprinkled through out and the teacup on the inside has a large heart.

All the fun is in the reveal, to see this card in action please check out my FACEBOOK page, feel free to join if you would like to share your own crafty creations. You can also see a video of this card on my INSTAGRAM page.

1A- I die cut the Triple Flip mechanism pieces from cream coloured cardstock (Karen has a video tutorial on the product page at the link ⬆️ )

B- add the flipper pieces to the polka dot cardstock.

2A- the polka dot cardstock is actually double sided so I decided to use it as the card base. Dimensions are below, I have the polka dots facing the inside and the grey is on the outside. It is a side fold card.

B- I cut a red and a cream panel (dimensions below) layered them and adhered them to the card front.

C- I used the semi circle die from the set and cut it out of the side where the pull tab will go.

3A- add the polka dot mechanism piece to the card base.

B- cut the panels from the same die set and add them to the card flipper.

4A- I die cut and decorated pieces from the following sets- Tea and Coffee borders, Baking Borders, Cat and Dog, Word Set 1 Greetings, and Word set 2 Birthday. I added shading with a Versa Mark Marker, and highlights with a white Gelly Roll pen. The words I cut from grey and red, I used the red as a shadow. I started adding elements to the front of the flippers.

B- on the back sides of the flippers I added the words on an angle, that was the only way they would fit. I trimmed the cat with the same rectangle that I used to cut the cream rectangle so it will fit in like its peeking around the side.

5A- because the front is so heavy I needed to add a little weight to the back. So I added a cream panel to the back. Panel is 5 3/4” x 4 1/4”

B- using left over pieces I made 2 borders for the inside. The red strips are 4 1/2” x 1 1/4”, the cream strips are 4” x 1 1/2’. The rectangle for signing was added over one of the borders. The red piece is 3 1/4” x 2 1/4”, the cream panel is 3” x 2”. I added them to the inside of the card as shown.

6A- I originally cut the mechanism for the Twist Flower Pop Up from the cream cardstock but I found that it was too visible and distracted from the teacup so I remade it from the polka dot cardstock.

B- I diecut the tea cup and saucer from the Tea and Coffee Pop Up , I added shading with a grey alcohol marker and highlights with a white Gelly Roll pen. I cut a heart from the Hearts Crosshatch and I added shading with a Versa Mark Marker, and highlights with a white Gelly Roll pen, then added it to the tea cup. I wanted it to match one of the tiny teacups. I added the teacup to the mechanism and the saucer to the card. FYI I was going to add the saucer to the mechanism as well but it was too long and the card would not close. The steam is cut from vellum.
