Christmas Stocking September Release

So excited to share…. that Karen Burniston has a brand new release.

This new Stocking Pop up die set is sooooo much fun and extremely versatile. Well maybe not the stocking but I can see me reaching for this mechanism time and time again (wait until you see my next card)

I thought my first card should show it with the dies from the set. And here it is …….

All the fun is in the reveal, to see this card in action please check out my FACEBOOK page, feel free to join if you would like to share your own crafty creations. You can also see a video of this card on my INSTAGRAM page.

1- I started with the card base and a backing panel. The base is Very Vanilla, and the panel is old Olive from Stampin Up. Dimensions below

2A- I dug out a long retired scrapbook kit from Stampin Up. ( I do this a lot because it’s easy to coordinate the colours) I cut strips from the pattered paper along the same lines on the pattern so all the strips would look the same. They are about an inch. I also cut skinny strips of old Olive and adhered them to the pattern strips, they look like a matt but uses less card-stock.

B- I added the panel to the back and the strips to the bottom of the front and the inside.

3A- cut out the pieces for the mechanism

B- add the mechanism to the card ( Karen will have a video tutorial)in the first photo I had the mechanism too low so I moved it up, seen in second photo. Yes you can see the glue but I new it wouldn’t be visible when the card is complete.

C- add the cover piece over the mechanism

4A- first photo shows the extra pieces cut from the Stocking Pop up, second photo shows pieces cut from the new Christmas Borders 2

B- assemble the pieces. I added shading using a Versa Mark marker and highlights with a white gel pen

C- start adding pieces to the card. On the border pieces I only added glue on the bottom half of the stockings because I knew I would be stuffing some of them.

5A- I made the elf using pieces from the Tiny Gnomes , I used hearts to make the ears. The gingerbread men are from the Christmas borders 1 , the bows and holly are from the Fireplace Extras 1. I tried to decorate the gingerbread men slightly different using a white marker

B- add the pieces to card as shown. Be mindful when adding to the large stocking to not bunch up in the fold.

6- I used a sticker from the scrapbook kit for the front, and ho ho ho from the new Small Christmas Script set for the inside.

Other Tools used

Fine Tip bottle

Lineco Neutral PH Adhesive

Quick Stick Tool

White Gel pen

Fiskars Trimmer
