Wow has this month just flown by, I have totally enjoyed hosting for the Crazy4Challenges blog this month and I loved seeing all the cards that the amazingly talented design team have come up with. We are down to the last challenge and for this challenge I thought I would try something different. I had a piece of art where I work and I always found it interesting, It totally wouldn’t work in my living room but I thought that it would make a great challenge. So the challenge was to use this piece of art as inspiration. The designers were able to choose to use it as a colour challenge, design, texture, or however it spoke to them. I’m anxious to see what they did. 🙂

and this is what I came up with

All the cardstock is from Stampin Up and the colours are listed below.
The cute puppies were cut out using Karen Burnistons Buster the dog die set (sorry it is currently unavailable but some of her older dies can still be found on Amazon.)

in case you are wondering why I would choose to cut a hole in the acetate and the reason is this…… I knew I was using micro beads and they tend to roll away if you try to lay them out like I did with the half clear bubbles. And because the frame and acetate piece is smaller than the card base I knew that if I put all the beads in the frame then try to adhere the card to it, well I was concerned that I would never get it centered. I also knew I was going to have the umbrella and dogs so covering the hole was not going to be a problem 🙂

How I designed the dogs.

by using a marker to ink up the stamp I was able to only ink up the word “daughter” and I was able to omit the crown that is on the stamp.
