This card is the third of three that my darling daughter asked me to make this last week. Her friend turned 18 this past week and she needed a card. She didn’t give me much direction sooooooo he got a cupcake pop up card for his birthday.

Because this card was going to be for an 18-year-old boy I wanted to find some masculine paper so I dug into my crazy pile of patterned paper and I came up with this.
I thought it would fun to use my Karen Burniston Cupcake pop up die set, (here are her video directions
step one, create the pop-up.
to cover the hole where the pop-up is I cut a piece of Very Vanilla cardstock and I rubbed my Early Espresso ink pad over it to distress it,
I cut a piece of the designer paper to fit the front panel. I cut the Happy Birthday greeting out three times, layered them and adhered it to the right side of the patterned paper, and I wrapped a piece of Twill Ribbon around the bottom and tied it into a knot,
I used scraps of the patterned paper to cut out the cupcake wrapper, bow, and the balloons.
To decorate the cupcake I used Dreamweaver Pearlescent Embossing paste and Iced the cupcake then added a little glitter.
I assembled all the pieces, and I added a border to the bottom of the card.
This is a fantastic card, I do love your makes….great tutorial etc too xx
