Water Colour Flowers, Gift Card Holder

Here is a birthday card which is also a gift card holder. I choose shades of pink and red to water colour these pretty little flower and then added a little shimmer 😊

All the supplies used on this card are from Stampin’ Up. Colours used are Pretty in Pink, and Rose Red. The flowers were stamped onto watercolour paper with black Staz on ink. To watercolour, I generally use ink pad refills and a water pen. I’m not a professional at watercolour but I try. I used a Wink of Stella to add some shimmer to the flower petals and I used a Wink of Stella Gold to add gold to the stamens of the flowers. I added a few faux water droplets on the top left and bottom right corners to give a little accent.

To make the inside of the card first you will seal an envelope (fits 5 1/2″ x 4 1/4″ card), then you will cut it in half down the middle from top to bottom. Stack them on top of each other making sure the openings are both facing up. Use a strong adhesive and glue them together MAKING SURE you only put one strip of adhesive in the middle going from top to bottom. If you glue anywhere but the middle the card will not open.

to make the card base cut and score as per diagram

Glue the envelope piece to the card base making sure that the bottom edges of the envelope meet up with the 3 1/4″ scoreline.

I then glued the pink card to a red 4 1/4″ by 5 1/2″ piece of cardstock to make the card a little bigger so it will fit in the envelope better, and I used a corner punch to round the corners.

THE IDEA BEHIND THIS CARD IS NOT MY ORIGINAL IDEA, BUT AS I MADE IT A WHILE BACK I DON’T HAVE THE NAME OF THE ORIGINAL CREATOR. I WILL EDIT AND GIVE CREDIT SHOULD I EVER FIND IT AGAIN. The colour choices and stamps used are my ideas.
