Me 😀

This was such a fun card to make, I wanted to use the Oven Pop up in a unique way, so instead of a nice pretty kitchen scene, I went for the kitchen of nightmares. On the plus side I think this is the only card I’ve ever made that used Christmas and Halloween diesets.

All the fun is in the reveal, to see this card in action please check out my FACEBOOK page, feel free to join if you would like to share your own crafty creations. You can also see a video of this card on my INSTAGRAM page.

Holiday House Easter card- designer challenge

I was so excited when Karen Burniston chose this challenge for the September Design Team Challenge. The challenge was to chose a Holiday and add the Holiday House. She was hoping we would chose different holidays to show how versatile this cute little house can be. I chose to make an Easter card. The design changed in my mind several times but I knew I want to have an Easter egg hunt with pretty spring colours and this is what I came up with.

House of cards, Uno style

Hello, hello, hello. So this is my second blog post using the new House of Cards pop up dieset, BUT it is the first House of Cards card that I made. I learned a few hard lessons, so I will give some advice and explain the mistakes that I made in hopes that you can learn from them, and have an easier time (I lost count of how many times I put it together and took it apart lol) Please make sure you watch Karen’s assembly video (at the link above) she gives the best tutorials, my blog is more of helpful tips and what not to do. Lol.

Happy Houses

A little late this week, but we we go. I’ve been really busy working on cards that I can”t show off yet (the Karen Burniston June sneak peek starts June 19th) so I have Craft Roulette card to share. This weeks parameters were a bit easy so I decided to add the challenge of using diesets I have, but haven’t used before, and to chose paper from my stash, not the pretty new paper I used for last weeks challenge, even though it would have been perfect for this card. lol. Craft Roulette parameters ⬇️

I made a shorter slim line (than I typically make), I think the colours I used could be seen at a tea part, including black for tea, I used the “word” Hello, I have hand drawn lines throughout but they are more noticeable on the front label, I added the little white lines on the pattern paper and borders as well.

Triple Spin card- Halloween Haunted Mansion

This was almost the card I was going to post for last weeks designer challenge as the theme was Halloweenor or Fall but I decided that Inwanted to be different than the rest and go with fall. Back in July Karen Burniston made a card using the Spinner Square dieset, where she used it THREE TIMES on one card, to make a “Triple Square Spinner Card”. I absolutely love when she teaches new ways to use dies that I already have. But anyone who knows me knows that I challenge myself to find a way to put my own spin (yes the pun was intended) on it, so instead of squares I decided to make a giant Haunted Mansion. This is what I came up with.

With this technique not only does the haunted mansion pop up but the bats, and the “boo” swing from left to right, and the ghost swings from right to left. To see this card in action please check out my FACEBOOK page, feel free to join if you would like to share your own crafty creations. You can also see a video of this card on my INSTAGRAM page.
