Hug in a Mug

I have to say that I am pretty smitten with how this card tuned out. It is an anniversary that I made for my husband. He is the coffee drinker, and I’m the tea drinker so I thought I would combine them into this one card. We happen to have been in different provinces on our anniversary day so I hid this card and told him where to find in on the day.

All the fun is in the reveal, to see this card in action please check out my FACEBOOK page, feel free to join if you would like to share your own crafty creations. You can also see a video of this card on my INSTAGRAM page.

This is my most favourite colour, so when I was flipping through my patterned paper stash and this pattern came up I just had to use it and was so happy when I had matching cardstock. I cut the card base and the layers as shown.

I layered the patterns as shown added them to the front, back and inside of the card.

I cut the mug and the tea cup from the Tea and Coffee Pop-up from a light blue and the darker teal blue. I sponged the edges of the lighter blue and stamped the greetings from the Coffee Chats Clear Stamps. I also sponged the bottom and the right side of the teal cups. I added the stamped cups over the teal cups as shown, to look like the darker colour is a shadow. I added highlights with a white Gelly roll pen.

I added the mechanism piece as shown (Karen has a video tutorial on the product page at the link ⬆️ for the Tea and Coffee Pop-up) I added the tea cup to the front of the mechanism and the mug was attached to the back left.

I decorated with die cuts from the same Tea and Coffee set.

For the front I decorated the panel from the Postage Pop up. I decorated with pieces from the Coffee Charms and the stamp from Bouquet Sayings. The 26nis from the Mini Alphabet and Numbers I added the panel to the front of the card.
