Christmas elf

Merry Christmas my crafty friends, this will be my last post before Christmas. I am sharing my third Playful Pop up Character that I have created and it is this cute little elf licking a candy cane.

I had so much fun creating this fun elf, let me know in the comments if there are any other characters you would like me to try to create.

All the fun is in the reveal, to see this card in action please check out my FACEBOOK page, feel free to join if you would like to share your own crafty creations. You can also see a video of this card on my INSTAGRAM page.

The nice thing about this dieset is that even with all the pieces it can still fit inside a A2 size card. I cut the card base and panels as shown below. TYPO the cream and the green layers should both be X4

Layer the panels as shown and add to the cardbase

I cut out the pieces from the Playful Pop up, I used Mini Ball Add On 1-Gnomes to cut the the hair, the Dog and Cat Add on for eyes and tongue. I forget which hearts but any hearts will do. I originally cut pink arms but changed my arms. The eye lashes are flowers from the Twist Flower pop up.

I wanted the face to not look like it was framed but it still needed a little support so I took the layer that is supposed to be on the top and put it on the underside of the Playful Popup main piece.

Using the arms from the Dog and Cat add on I made the arms for the elf. The mitts are from the Snow Charms. I used alcohol markers to add shading and a white gelly roll pen for the highlights.

To make the body I just cut out a square to fit the space and used a corner rounder to round the corners. I hand cut part of the scarf, but used the scarf from the Snowman Add on to make the hanging part. I started adding the pieces to the card as shown.

I had to bend the hat and cut the hair to get these pieces o fit.

I used the whiskers from the Dog and Cat add on to add wisps of hair to my elf.

I only had a scrap of the patterned paper left so I layered it as shown and added it to the middle of the card.

Using the Tiny Gnomes set I created this cute little girl to match the elf on the inside. I used a scrap piece from cutting out the braids to use as bangs, and I used the inside of the this bow to make the top part of the scarf. I used the little hearts from the set to make her ears. I used alcohol markers to add shading and a white gel pen to add highlights. To make the gifts I just cut out different squares and added bows (she has bows in a few sets so use what you have). I added shading and highlights the same as the elf.

For the greeting and the name I used Merry Christmas Lorna Add On, and the Alphabet set. I added shading and highlights and cut the label part off the greeting.

I added the last of the pieces and then a few itty bitty gems randomly around.
