Happy November, and welcome to the weekend. With the weekend comes a new Crazy4Challenges challenge and I am excited to say that I am the host for November. One of the benefits of being the host is that I get to choose the challenges : ) According to the days of the year calendar November 3rd is CANDY Day, what fun, so this weeks challenge is to have a candy themed card……. and this is what I came up with.

All the cardstock and patterned paper used is from Stampin Up, some of the colours and paper are retired, colours are listed below.
The Pop-up mechanism is the Flower Pot Pop up die set from Karen Burniston that I decided to use as a candy dish.
To create the candy dish I used Karen Burnistons Flower Pot Pop-up die set, I really recommend watching her assemble VIDEO as it does help with creating the assembly of this card. I switched out the flowers for candy.
If I created this card again I probably wouldn’t use Vellum cardstock as it did crack and the washi tape isn’t really a great reinforcement.
After I added the flower pot I realized it stuck out the side, so I had to created another outer cardbase to cover it. Now the trick to adding a cardbase inside a card base is not to completely glue it in, it has to have a little wiggle room otherwise the middle won’t open. It will lift in the middle a little but at least the flower pot/candy dish will open all the way.
Now the for the candy……..
When stamping I used Island Indigo ink on the Balmy Blue cardstock.
