Simple Tree Scene Birthday Card

This is a fun, quick and easy card to make, great for a beginner. The panels are a fun way to stretch out an image or could also be used to imitate a window scene.

All the materials are from Stampin ‘ UP. Cardstock colours are Bashful Blue & Chocolate Chip. Ink colours used are Bashful Blue, Chocolate Chip, Garden Green, and Old Olive.

I am by no means an expert in water colouring but one way to make it look impressive is by using actual watercolour paper, the paper I used is from Stampin’Up. I started off by planning how big I wanted each panel and cut out one large square, I didn’t cut them into panels until I after I created the image. The image was created by using a tree stamp, also from Stampin’up. I stamped the trees, I found that since the watercolour paper is kind of bumpy I didn’t really get a clean image so I took a very fine paintbrush and painted over the trunk, branches, and leaves. Hmmm, I guess painting is the wrong term as I didn’t use paint I used Stampin’ Up ink refill.Ā  Next, I painted the sky and the grass with ink refill as well.

Next, I cut the panels and matted them with Chocolate Chip ink and attached them to the Bashful Blue card base.

I added a Very Vanilla ribbon charm to a piece of Chocolate Chip ribbon and added it and a Happy Birthday stamp to the bottom right corner. and voila all done šŸ™‚
