Sending Hugs….

I had so much fun playing Craft Roulette this week, especially since Karen Burniston was the guest. I don’t typically play when the episode is live but this week I at least got to start my card while the show was live, I worked on it a bit Saturday but didn’t get the chance to finish until Sunday. Here is my card along with this weeks parameters.

As always I also try to add my own challenges which are to 1- make it interactive/pop up, 2-use a dieset I haven’t used before, and 3- to use a die set I haven’t used in a while. This is how I met all of the parameters…

The Flowers Pivot Panels is the die set I have never used before, Wordset 14- Hugs is the dieset I haven’t used in a while. I used a small gift card-sized envelope ( I bought from Amazon) to make the “Faux Envelope”, I used Strawberry colours, I have yellow strings on the front and the inside, and I have several Flowers overlapping on the front.

All the fun is in the reveal, to see this card in action please check out my FACEBOOK page, feel free to join if you would like to share your own crafty creations. You can also see a video of this card on my INSTAGRAM page.

I cut the card base and panels as shown below. Then added to the front back and inside of the card.

I die cut the mechanism and the flowers as shown from the Flowers Pivot Panels dieset. I added shading with a Versa Mark Marker, and highlights with a white Gelly Roll pen, I also used a red and a yellow alcohol marker along the edges of some of the flowers. (Karen has a video tutorial on the product page at the link ⬆️) add the mechanism and flowers to the card base.

I bought these gift card envelopes from Amazon a year ago. I inked all the edges with Versa Mark ink and cut off the top flap. The envelope is designed to hold itself closed with the notch in the flap so I had to glue the sides to the front. I wrapped some yellow string around the envelope then glued it to the card base on a slight angle.

I cut and decorated more flowers for the front. I diecut “Sending Hugs” from Wordset 14 -Hugs and added to the card front. I tried to make the flowers look like they are pouring out of the envelope. I added some itty bitty gems sprinkled within the flowers.

I had to get creative with the inside message. “&” is cut from Word Set 9-Love, “Birthday” from Word Set 2- Bitthday, “Wish” is from Word Set 18- Connectors, and “es” that I added to the end of “wish” was cut out of the word “blessings” from Word set 7- Autumn. I added the message and started adding flowers to the top left corner. I cut “love you” from the Pop n Swap set. I added more flowers to the bottom right and I wrapped a piece of yellow string on the side as border. I sprinkled some gems through out the flowers as well.
